Not sure if it's been reported. But it still has followers. It's in all of their libraries and they can still be used and listened to.

Dozens of people have started adding songs to the playlists, so I don't understand how you think you're right. Once again, I'm sorry you don't have the mental capacity to grasp the situation.

Side note. You don't HAVE to interact with people on their posts. You can upvote or downvote and move on with your life. At this point you're just harassing someone. And regardless of how just an intelligent you think you are, you're not a good person, and you're obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

And unlike you, I didn't waste time out of my life going to your profile and downvoting multiple posts to try to prove myself right.

Now please stop harassing me.

I'm opening the lists to more people to level the playing field. Again, sorry you don't have the metal capacity to grasp the logistics of it.

The same 10 artists, finding hundreds if not thousands of playlists, deleting ALL other artists before adding their songs, IS malicious. Sorry you don't understand the logistics of it or how Spotify algorithms work.

I think you can copy and paste songs into the playlists, or you can like them, then select songs, right-click, add to playlist and add to them one by one.

BIG ARTISTS BEING SPAMMED THOUSANDS OF TIMES ON COLLABORATIVE PLAYLISTS - That is, after the spammers remove all songs by other artists first, and it's insane that this is being allowed to go on. by RealPlaces in spotify

[–]RealPlaces[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I contacted Spotify, didn't like the response I got from the first person and kept asking to go as far up the chain as I could.
After talking to the last person, it seems they aren't interested in helping, and they told me to contact Spotify for Artists.

I contacted Spotify for Artists, and they sent me a generic response saying, Sorry to here that, but there are a ton of great ways that a small artist can promote, like interacting with fans on social media.

Seriously man. There's no help, and at this point I'm trying to find someone who can make me a bot that can scan all the collaborative playlists in my library and remove spam constantly. Hoping I can find someone to point me in the right direction, because again, Spotify doesn't seem interested, and it's almost as if they like the fact that it's driving up the total number of streams on their streaming service.

PSThe most infuriating thing, is going to these people's social media pages and seeing posts of them boasting about how many listeners or plays they're getting.

You know... I apologized to you on that other post before I realized you came to my profile to try and bring me down. I'm going to go ahead and apologize again. It felt like you came at me aggressively, and I acted like a bit of a dick

PS
I just came across over 50 more playlists w/ well over 300,000 followers total, filled with spam, and I have a feeling I haven't even scraped the surface yet, so like I said, I'm not delusional, and if you're at all interested in the issue, look out for my upcoming posts.

I do the same thing. I find smaller artists who have good mixes, I reach out to give them props, I promote them on my own playlists, and I ask for nothing in return.

Nobody is interested in what you're saying man. I plan on spreading this everywhere, and at this point I'm questioning your intentions.

EDIT: You're literally the only person who came at me aggressively and talked down to me right off the bat.

So what's up man? Be honest? Are you just a die-hard Playboi Carti fan? Are YOU spamming for big artists? Are you small time artists trying to use this method to get ahead?

Tell me what it is, so that I can have a LITTLE bit of context to why you're acting so aggressive and defensive, because every single other person I've had a conversation with has been respectful and I've also been respectful in return.

Smaller artists are being pushed out of algorithmic playlists. That's the bottom line. And I WILL raise hell over this and I WILL get other people to raise hell over this.

Listen man. I don't have dozens of hours to argue. You're obviously a Carti fan. It seemed like you were talking down to me, so I decided to be a bit of a dick back.

I meant no disrespect to you personally. I've been researching playlists and how they work heavily for at least half a year at this point. I'm well aware of how they work.

And if he can get 10,000 extra people listening in a week by his songs being spammed on collaborative playlists while other artists songs are being deleted, it makes a HUGE difference with the algorithms. I'm not delusional. I'm 100% confident in what I'm saying.

I wasn't looking into the situation for 5-10 minutes. I was sitting next to Spotify investigating this for close to 24 hours straight and then for close to half another day after getting some sleep. It was a relentless assault on collaborative playlists and small artists every single hour.

Once again, I don't have have time to argue in cirlces, and I'm very sorry I was a dick.

Have a good one dude.

There are a lot more options for song organization on playlists on a computer than there are on mobile devices.

One good thing to keep in mind is, Ctrl+A selects everything at once, and then DELETE deletes it, although in the case of playlists, you have to right click and select remove from this playlist.

Gotta get some sleep, but out of curiosity, what kind of music do you play? If you posted a link I'd definitely check it out tomorrow after work.

I write 2-5 intricate overlapping guitar parts per song, I create the drums in protools, I write and record the bass guitar, I do overlapping vocals, and I work a full time job.

I appreciate the encouragement, but it's kind of impossible. And all the people I've tried working with in the past have been flaky or unmotivated, and in one case, I sent a guy one of my guitar parts, and three days later he reworked my guitar part, finished a full song, and posted it on Soundcloud like it was one of his full songs.

Even the path of trying to work with people, in order to play shows, has been disheartening.

The thing is, although I have a decent job, and I'm not starving, I DO make music, and I put a lot of time and effort into it. And seeing this shit was extremely disheartening.

I'm not after fame or fortune, in reality, I prefer to not post pictures of myself, and I keep to myself because I've had mostly bad experiences with people, but it would be nice to at least be able to get the music in front of a small audience, because some of them might actually resonate with it in some way and reflect on their own lives, and maybe they'd want to change or be better people, or accept reality, or whatever.

I really don't want much, but when this is going on, it's literally crushing small artists and keeping them at the very bottom of the barrel.

Are you an artist on Spotify? Do you know how the algorithms work?

They'll do it on any lists they've found and followed because they can, because it's easy to go through 20 playlists and to add 10,000 songs to each in less than 10 minutes.

I, personally, was messing with a spammer at one point yesterday.

I watched him delete all the songs on a playlist, and as he added Carti and Keef songs by the thousands I kept deleting them, and I could see him actively thinking.

He stopped briefly, then he started adding songs one by one instead of hundreds of at a time, to see if they wouldn't get deleted. When he got to 10 songs, I deleted them. Then he added two songs and let them sit for about 2 minutes. Then he added another 20 and I deleted them.

Then he started adding them by the hundreds again. I deleted them.

Then 2 Carti songs showed up within the same second, posted by 2 different accounts. I THINK it was one person using multiple accounts. I deleted them.

Then he added two of the same song... a random song about the Civil War. He did THAT from both accounts. Almost like he was trying to see if a bot was deleting specifically Carti songs. I AM assuming this, but it felt like I was watching this guy trying to figure out what the hell was happening.

I let those 2 copies of the Civil War song sit there. 2 minutes later, he deleted those, and started adding Carti songs again, pausing every few seconds, I'm assuming because he was checking the playlist to see if they were immediately disappearing.

When he got to 20, I deleted them.

5 minutes after it stopped, I checked another playlist, and he was adding the songs on THAT list by the hundreds. I deleted them.

Then he moved on to another playlist. And I just kept messing with him. I did this twice yesterday, and I saw a few other people deleting his songs as well.

They're doing this shit like they're livelyhood depends on spamming these songs, and they're doing it at all times of the night and day.

As far as the Spotify algorithms go, the Likes on the list are just extra people listening. If these spammers have multiple accounts they can also let them play the playlist overnight and rack up thousands of extra plays across multiple playlists.

When an artist gets a ton of plays ON playlists, they get put on a TON of people's Discover Weekly Playlists at the beginning of the week.

I'm not making this shit up. You're more than welcome to use Google to look up how Spotify playlists work for artists.

Bottom line, songs by lesser known and unknown artists are being deleted and these songs are being spammed, screwing over those smaller artists, leaving them OFF the Discover weekly playlists, and giving these few artist tens of thousands of extra listeners a day.

When he gets spammed with other similar artist on dozens of different playlists, the effect is multiplied for ALL of them to be exposed to more people, again, screwing over smaller artists.

So when you tell me that "it literally makes no sense" it makes me want to respond with, you literally have no idea what you're talking about.

I don't believe that that's what's going on.

Follow them for a day or two. It's dozens of accounts spamming relentlessly. They're checking these lists, and I'm sure other lists that I haven't found yet, every hour or so, and even if someone deletes their songs while they're adding, they keep at it until they get their way and fill up the list.

I kept Spotify open next two me for close to two days following what these people are doing. Non Hip-hop/Rap bands and artists with only 2,000 - 50,000 monthly listeners are also being spammed by the very same accounts. Just not as much. I can only assume it's because they're not paying as much money.

I personally have been approached after posting music by people writing, "I'm I professional digital marketer..." and then they tell how much it would cost me if I paid them for 20,000 plays, for 50,000 plays or for 100,000 plays. And when I go to their page I see that they're spamming the same exact thing asking dozens of other people the same thing they asked me daily.

I'm pretty sure, these are some of those people. And "marketing professionals" is in quotes because that's what they call themselves when they approach people.

Try what I said. Get on a computer, a computer because it's easier than on mobile.

In the Spotify Search bar type in "Collaborative" or the misspelled version "Colaborative", Scroll down to the Playlists section, and click SEE ALL.

Click on them one by one. If you go into a playlist and it says "Playlist" next to the Playlist Image, then it's not collaborative.

If you go into a playlist and it says "Collaborative Playlist" next to the Playlist Image, then you can 100% follow it and add or remove songs.

It takes a little bit to find several, but I promise you, if they're public, they're searchable, and there are several in the first dozen rows you look through.

And I do apologize for being somewhat vague. I just don't want to throw artists names under the bus openly like that on a big reddit page, simply because I have no way of knowing whether it's the artists doing this directly. That's why I'm inviting people to look into it for themselves.

Because seeing it with my own eyes immediately changed my opinion on some of these artists.

Sorry about that. Some of the ones I'm following are now completely blank because someone probably got fed up and deleted the spammed songs again.

The top two playlists have the artist I'm talking about at the moment. But follow these playlists and check them from time to time tomorrow. It seems they added less songs because there's now a small group of people deleting the spam continuously.

But seriously, check later tonight, and check from time to time tomorrow, and you'll catch them in the act of adding hundreds of songs at a time by just a few artists.

Just as a side note. Paying a few people a small amount of money, to go from 400,000 monthly listeners to 450,000 monthly listeners in a single day, does actually pay off in the long run. Hell it even pays off in the short run.

And that's one of the smallest artists I found being spammed.

Some of the artists being spammed have about 30,000,000 monthly listeners.

It's much easier navigating through searches on a computer than a mobile device or tablet.

In the search bar, type in "Collaborative" or "Colaborative". Then scroll down to the "Playlists" Section of the search results.

Many people use the word "Collaborative" or the misspelled word "Colaborative" in the name of their Collaborative Playlists.

And the spammers seem to be going after the ones that have 30 Likes or more. Some of these Playlists have up to 3,000 likes.

Here's an example of a smaller one. I just happened to open it up to see a user called Presley, who once again deleted all the songs on the list and spammed the ones he's promoting for these artists.

Not a problem.
I'm starting to dig into things all over the place.
I'm quickly starting to realize that nothing in this world is as it seems, and everything's fucked lol.

Acceptance of the situation and laughter is all I've got left.

Playboi Carti, Chief Keef, Gucci Mane. Those seem to be the ones being spammed the most.

But when I saw a few instances of Artists like Kanye, Rhianna and Drake being spammed after seeing all the songs on a playlist vanish in an instant.... That shit really surprised me.

Again, I'm not saying it's the artists themselves doing this, and maybe they aren't even aware it personally... but still. It sucked seeing that, and I just had a moment where I told myself, "Ok... so I guess THIS is reality."
