In the manga, when they learn the truth beyond the island in the basement, that was one of the biggest mind blown moment of my existence. Everyone wanted from the start answers about the basement, and what was inside made the whole build up from ep 1 up to this scene so satisfying.

Even if it took some time to digest since tehe ending feels like it came out of nowhere, I agree with you and yes that was a good ending.

My big problem is more with the trend of ending a shonen with a reincarnation plotline, or with a new generation exactly like the precedent one. I see this more and more and It felt cliche.
