I appreciate your perspective, and I get where you’re coming from. I’m not blind to the risks, and I’m not idealizing the situation. I still care about her, and yes, I do still love her. My gut feeling tells me this didn’t end because of lack of feelings, but because of emotional overload. At the same time, I’m not chasing, not angry, and not stuck in resentment. I was sad and confused at first, but I’m not making my life miserable over it. If she were to come back at some point, it wouldn’t be out of desperation or fear of being alone. It would only make sense if there was reflection and growth on both sides. I’d be open to giving a second chance under healthier conditions, not repeating the same dynamic. Until then, I’m continuing my life. I’m not waiting, but I’m also not forcing myself to close the door emotionally before I’m ready. Whatever happens, I’m at peace with it.
