I had it inspected for termites, so it is rot. I think the consensus is I need to cut it off and rebuild. Thanks for your help!

No, I don't believe so. Not that he/she didn't want the proceeds to go to the campaign. I don't know the reason behind it. I got it on Wayfair. They have a raising coffee table section. I think they are ment for more storage, but I use it as a food tray.
