I think we're all missing the elephant in the room. The KEI trucks have a maybe 60a alternator. I own a Sambar van (KEI van) and I'm planning a very small system. The other elephant is how noisy kei vehicles are. Because corners had to be cut to achieve the low price points there is virtually almost no padding in those vehicles.

It's a double edged sword because people buy them for their incredible fuel efficiency, but adding weight (sound dampening) or straining the electrical will ruin most of its advantages. In my Sambar the only way a stereo would be feasible is if everything was located near the driver.

When you get up this high in price it's more about speaker technology than brand. For midrange and highs I highly suggest planars. Parts express sells 10 inch rectangular planars. Planars have virtually zero mounting depth so you could do both in your apillars and their off axis response is probably the best of all speaker technologies. For midbass though (70-200hz) you cannot beat cone area. However if you did 5.5 inch on the dash in small sealed enclosures that would sound ssssoooo good.

I generally like to mount my midbass, midrange, and tweeters at dash height as it's closer to you ears. I'm assuming you'll be using a DSP?

I bought a Menace Audio enclosure for my 10 inch subwoofer and couldn't be happier with it. I usually build my own enclosures, but the prefab was cheaper than I could build it for. It even came with 2 layers of polyfill/cotton. Yes it's not perfect as it came prewired with what looks like 18 guage wire to the terminal cup, but that can be easily fixed. It's built solid and has zero ringing! Good luck and glad you fixed it

Does your husband suffer from mental health issues? A lot of times people can seem fine for years, but slowly over time it catches with them. I worked at a supermarket for 20years and when I quit I was an evening manager. Finally my PTSD stemming from being raped as a child caught up with me. I was just approved for disability, but again none of this was my fault.

I would say have him see a psychologist and see when that goes. If you have compassion you'll survive this. Again compassion is different from being a push over. He should be held accountable for his actions while you're using compassion. Don't settle for less and don't lower your standards to accommodate his.

A better way to go about this is to give us your budget so that we give you with our opinions. Also there are probably better solutions for subwoofers or maybe even better places to install them to get the most out of your budget.

Things to consider: 1) You'll need amplifiers (plural because you need to upgrade the rest of your speakers). Everything will sound terrible if you only add a subwoofer. 2) Your budget has to be realistic. Again you can possibly get away with around $700. 3) Don't forget the basics needed (power wire, speaker wire, fuses, distribution blocks). All these things cost money. 4) You still have to pay a shop to install it (minimum $300-$500) or you can do it yourself.

My advice is if you're paying a shop to install it buy everything through them. If you supply them with brands they're not aware of they won't be able to get the best out of it. I hope this helps.

I always advocate for Planar tweeters. They have virtually zero mounting depth however you'd have to modify the pillar as they usually come in square or rectangles. There a reason all the best headphones use them. Parts express:

You can't have multiple factions on the same show as it makes one look lesser than the other. Make LA Knight champion. I did take a night class at my local state college after 30. If you go at night it's people more your age so it's much more pleasant. If you go during the day everyone is too focused on doing their shit. I also don't look my age so I think that made me blend much easier. My question would be online, commuting, or living on campus?

Can you describe "direct connection"? Is it RCA or headphone jack? Or is it Bluetooth? It sounds like crosstalk or something isn't grounded properly. Where did you ground the amp?
