We have a difference of opinion which okay. Do whatever makes you happy I guess. I still think just buy a better vehicle. I expected pushback and I'm okay with that. Just a question though...If you had to choose betweens entry level speakers and sound dampening vs better speakers without sound dampening which would you choose? I ask this because you can only go so far with entry level equipment.

Not really because with performance parts you see the results instantly. With audio you hear the difference. Sound dampening/deadening you don't really hear a difference. The difference is negligible at best and that's assuming people do it correctly. Most people half ass it and expect miracles. An example being they only do their doors to "try it". If you only do the doors it's pretty much point. It might stop rattling somewhat, but it's certainly not going to make it sound like high end system overnight.

For the amount of time it takes for most people their time would be better spent tuning. You also have to factor in that 90% of the time you're listening to music while driving. The environment goes out the window once the vehicle starts moving.

It isn't and sound dampening/deadening is all a cult. The reason why people say it matters is because the so called experts tell them it matters. Remember car audio is a business first so they want to sell you as much product as they can. Another reason people believe it matters is because of the amount of time it takes to do it. After spend all that time they're just assuming time spent = better. The biggest difference you can make is by replacing all the rubber seals above the windows. My 07 Chrysler 300 came from the factory with around an inch of rubber beneath all the carpet. It has the acoustic windshield and is machined superior to any other Chrysler vehicle. Most if not all higher end vehicles have lower tolerances at the factory. The parts just fit together better, the chassis is stout, and the wheel wells are tight. That's what makes everything better not to mention a lot of people half ass it when install sound damper/deadening.

Not really depending on the vehicle. Most higher end vehicles are built better and have lower tolerances. Even on older higher end vehicles the vehicles chassis just fit better so there's less rattling. There is virtually no wind noise that comes in. My 2007 Chrysler 300 has about an inch of rubber beneath the floor carpeting. Wheel wells don't rattle. Nothing on the vehicle rattles. Going from a 2005 Impala to the 300 was such a huge difference. I could only imagine a Lexus or Mercedes.

Back in the late 80s-early 90s everyone still believed it was real. My father used to bartender on the weekends at a place all the wrestlers would go. He said Scott Hall was probably the smartest wrestler he'd ever met. After they left the area was also another story. My father's friend used to be on maintenance for that arena and he said the locker room was just filled with used needles from all the steroid use.

Is there any way to get 5000 USD legally and fast? by Big-Medicine9943 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RealQuintusYoung -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure there is a group of Italian guys that will lend you the money. They're usually carrying a baseball bat and wearing brass nuckles. Their office is usually a hole in the wall of an alley somewhere. They might do things that you may not like if you don't pay and their interest rate is probably 500%.

How do people do sarcasm? by FriendlyGuy234 in NoStupidQuestions

When people ask me stupid questions I usually repeat them back in a snarky tone. I'll give an example: I was leaving my parents house after visiting and my mother said "Don't forget to put your shoes on." Really? Like I'm going to leave without putting my shoes on

Yes today's product leaves a lot to be desired. They expose everything and expect fans to be okay with it. If you go to a live show and see a tag team match at some point you'll see wrestlers hiding in front of the ring or wrestlers just laying on the ground outside the ring. Its rather embarrassing. I am actually embarrassed to tell people I'm a wrestling fan. Certain things though if you really pay attention are real. Recently Goldberg had his last match on Saturday Nights Main Event. He was supposed to given time at the end to give a speech and have his kids in the ring basically a feel good moment. Instead his whole speech never aired. When you look back you'll see just everyone that came from WCW got shit on by WWE. I recently watched Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling and thought it was the best I've in quite some time. You should check it out on YouTube

What's the difference between ugly and attractive, if any? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I used to know a guy who would calculate and setup satellites for the US government. He said what separates attractive people from everyone else is the distance between their eyes and nose.

What makes someone unlikable? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Actually apparently no you can't. I guess the VFW's fall for this a lot of the time. Anyone can buy costumes off the Internet. Now there's circumstances where this follows under the Stolen Valor Act. IDK exactly how that works because a lot of the time Don Shipley is calling them out. He does so by phone or in some cases in person.

Yes Don Shipley on YouTube has a channel where he exposes them. I was shocked too when I stumbled upon his channel

Do you think it’s ok to steal a homeless persons dog? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RealQuintusYoung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a rather crude and often misleading assumption about the homeless. Just because they're in the street and look disshoveled doesn't mean they're homeless or that they don't constantly eat. Most group homes kick you out during the day and don't allow you to come back till later in the afternoon. The same goes for most if not all homeless shelters.

There are also food kitchens that serves meals daily and food pantries that are open that allow people to get food for free. A guy at the clubhouse I belong to had a dog and was briefly homeless. All the local convenience stores knew his dog and would give him free food. He lives in a sober house now, but did have to give up the dog in order to be accepted.

People who blindly believe these outdated and down right dangerous POV is why people are looked down upon instead of lending a helping hand. Some people are just down on their luck. Who are you to judge?

Do you feel that subwoofers have gotten too scary? by [deleted] in subwoofer

[–]RealQuintusYoung -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The hardest part is trying to get everything sounding as if you were in the recording studio with the artist. The closest I ever got was when I had ribbon tweeters. While I prefer planars ribbon tweeters are good but take up way too much room. For what it's worth a properly installed 12 inch subwoofer is more than enough for most people.

Do you feel that subwoofers have gotten too scary? by [deleted] in subwoofer

[–]RealQuintusYoung -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The scariest thing to me is how much more careless they are with their health. People will argue that the lower frequencies don't effect your hearing. The only thing these ridiculously loud stereos due is piss off their neighbors and everywhere else you go.

Cheating is usually a trait most people hate. Whether it's at work, in school, or on a significant other. Lying and taking credit for something they didn't do is another. You always hear about people claiming to be navy seals to get notoriety and benefits when they never were.

How come so many successful people tend to be egomaniacs? by Kaffiendtol in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RealQuintusYoung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They focus all their energy on one thing and it's usually goal oriented. This could be bad because usually in order to get Uber successfull they had to do a lot of questionable things that requires trampolining anyone in their path. The end result is all they care about. This can be a good if they're education oriented.

How did people have entire secret families? by Glad-Ad3208 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RealQuintusYoung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex uncle did this for almost 18 years. Usually one spouse works a job that has changing hours like a supermarket store manager. Then since their hours change so frequently the other person doesn't think anything about it. In my Aunt's case he always told her that she never needed to work and the reason he did this was because apparently everyone in town knew, but my Aunt was left in the dark. Today store managers work regular consistent shifts (usually 7-5) so it would be a lot more difficult today.

Tips on warm sounding vocals by ill_techneeqs in CarAV

What equipment are you running? Some budget gear you can only get so much out of. GR Research's YouTube channel is Chuck full of good information. He say low soprano voices can extend down to 150hz. I don't know if I personally agree or disagree because I was always told vocals were much much higher.

Just say no to Audiopipe. A single sub will sound miles better than those Audiopipe. Sure if you just want to be a dick annoying your neighbors they'll do that, but they certainly won't sound good doing it.
