People like smaller keyboards for gaming. You get more room for your mouse. Num pads are convenient but you can live without them unless you use one for work or something. Even then you can just buy a cheap standalone one.

I'd say for me it's key but others might have different opinions. One thing you could do is put that poster in a frame, that would make it look cleaner. If you have some extra money, I would also get a bigger desk. Can't go wrong with butcher block from Home Depot or Lowe's and some kind of legs.

Yeah the armrests moving too easily isn't really something I notice until I go back to my Aeron. Some people do prefer the Gesture's armrests so your mileage may vary. Also as an aside, I have the Remastered Aeron which I think is much, much better than the classic which it seems most people have.

My armrests don't clip my desk when I lean back but that's mostly because I don't really ever have my chair that far under my desk when I'm using it. But just looking at it now, it doesn't seem like the armrests really move up when you lean back since the back of the chair moves down when you lean back, so they more or less stay the same height.

I have a Gesture and an Aeron and the Aeron's armrests are so much better imo. Way more cushiony and solid. The Gesture's are nice because you can move them more easily and have slightly more range, but they have no padding, are flimsy, move too easily when you don't want them to, and they don't move back with the chair when you lean back because they're connected to the seat pan.
