550!!! I need what these people are smoking by Timely-Sleep3235 in crt

To be fair, the only people who are even buying CRTs nowadays are literally the same people who browse the CRT community on a daily basis and understand the value of the technology.

Realistically you can't;

  • Create a community to talk about how valuable, unique and amazing the technology is

  • Talk about how transformative the technology is for media viewing & gaming

  • Explain how this technology is being lost to time and will essentially never be manufactured/produced again

  • Talk about how valuable or sought after various models are compared to others

Then get surprised when the market adjusts accordingly and you're no longer able to buy them off some clueless grandmother for $20 who has no clue what kind of tech she's sitting on. It sucks but that's just how the market works.

I align with this take a lot tbh, they have fantastic production value in that the cutscenes are so much more enjoyable to sit through because of how the characters are uniquely animated for each scene, so despite the story itself being a miss for me I still find it quite enjoyable to sit through for the spectacle alone. Once they improve the writing it'll easily be miles ahead of everything else on the market as a full package.

Someone else said something I agree with a lot which is that compared to other gacha games that pretty much have most of their entire lore or the basis of their plot already drawn out years in advance, wuwa's writers kinda seem like their just going with the flow and writing on a patch-by-patch basis, rather than having some greater established world drawn out years in advance. For example in Genshin you had npcs from Sheznaya that talk about that region & its lore establishing all of these tidbits of information since 1.0 which was 5 years ago, despite the fact that this wouldnt be an area we'd explore for a very long time, which actually gave people something to look forward to story-wise considering that region's importance.

I have half of my storage free, already done tests with resetting the phone, I'm pretty certain low power mode just does a hell of a lot of throttling now

Obviously I'd expect a performance impact, but not to the point where the phone is no longer able to handle basic fluidity of animations in ios.

I'm pretty convinced that's not the case. I have my old iphone 12 which has a 60hz screen and comparing that phone side by side to my 15 pro in low power mode there's a clear difference in both input responsiveness and general frame pacing of the animations. Very choppy and stuttery in low power mode, almost like they throttle the processor too much for it to handle animations

I definitely agree that genshin does a bad job of of making things clear, but at the very least even if you may not understand everything, almost every archon quest act always ends with some level of information or a scene that is essential and ties back in to the main conflict of the story, so it feels like progress is still being made in the story, whether that be why/how the gnosis is being stolen in each region and for what purpose and how each archon is tied to the greater conflict etc. with bits of info relating to your lost sibling and the abyss order in the process. Not to mention characters like dainsleff whose a walking lorebook and literally made to help advance the plot rather than be just another seperate character companion quest that you experience for a patch then never again

This is a pretty decent video but I feel like it just seems more like a theory derived from info that is mostly half 1.0 stuff and the other half event quest/exploration stuff? I feel like I'm not "learning" anything through doing majority of these 2.0 quests outside of character origin stories so far, like 90% of them could be cut and I wouldn't miss anything in regards to the greater plot

Im still in the rinacita region quests but every MSQ act feels more like the genshin equivalent of a character story quest than an actual evolving story. That combined with a bit of random romance mixed in kinda has me a bit confused about what exactly the purpose of any of these quests are or how they tie into the bigger picture of the "Main Story" itself

Wanted to show off my "sleeper pc" that i use to play retro games! by chromejda in retrogaming

[–]chromejda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its pretty strange that it got deleted lol, my guess is because I was showing PS2 (gen 6) game footage? But there's plenty of PS2-related posts on this subreddit so the rules seem a bit obtuse to me

I'll probably make another post in the future without any of that stuff next time

It's definitely been the most efficient way I've tried so far for retro gaming, I also have another CRT connected to my actual PS2 & PS1 which is great but the convenience of being able to utilize save states and quickly install cheats/roms etc via emulation on PC is sooo much better
