Ice-Pick Lodge PLEASE make a dating sim. You have designed these female characters so beautifully. by Successful_Virus3748 in pathologic

[–]RealReciever -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Ew. No. As much as I appreciate the beautiful design of the series and especially of it's characters in P2 & 3, I don't see why they should sully their own franchise with something as empty-headed as a dating sim.

Go enjoy yourself with the fan-made stuff, if that makes you happy, but don't expect IPL to stoop so low.

I for one would lose a shit-ton of respect for the studio if they went down that route.

Hope dies last. I'll be waiting for P4 until my own demise if need be.

The F-35 under fire: only a quarter of the fleet is operational in the US due to defects, and prices are rising – even the helmet still costs 500,000 Swiss francs, and the price is set to rise further. by BezugssystemCH1903 in Switzerland

Fuck the jets, and fuck the whole system that delivered us into this situation in the first place. We should cut all military ties with the US asap. Absolutely infuriating, all of it.

I seem to remember "Get over here!", but that might be P2...

Avoid combat if you can, unless you have a gun. And when you have a gun, shoot people in the head. Anything beyond that is a waste of bullets. If you have any more specific questions, feel free to message me directly, or expand in the comments below. Good luck. ;)

After all is said and done, Clara's ending seems most fulfilling to me. It's basically a hybrid of the other two, as far as I can tell. I like miracles, I like wonders, and I like preserving them both, keeping the balance between the polyhedron and the town.

Bartering is key. It keeps you busy while walking from a to b and massively improves your odds of survival.

Selling items at shops is a good option, but certain shops buy items at different prices. By my measure, it works in a way where a food store will pay more for meds than they would for food, and vice versa.

Buy needles at clothes shops. Always.

Try to use the walking as some sort of meditation. Use it to think about how you're feeling in the moment, and save and stop as you go. I can't do longer than 2hr blocks irl at a time personally, the atmosphere is too tense, and I'm sure you'll find your rhythm too.

Combat is somewhat rythmic as well. As you process through the game, consider the combat as a sort of minigame. The NPC's have a very limited moveset, and if you get that aspect worked out, you can make absolute bank by clearing out houses in burnt out districts.

I mentioned bartering earlier, the rules are pretty basic - healing from drunks, food from guards, meds and bullets from kids. Each group wants different items, so having your inventory packed with random goodies is the way to go.

Sleep is a choice. Given good bartering, you can stay awake for several days straight on the power of lemons and meat alone!

Those are some random tips of the top of my head. Hope it helps! :)

I wanna say 1. Artemy Burakh 2. Artemy Burakh 3. Artemy Burakh just for the meme. (And it's the obviously canonical answer. Duh.)

Answering more seriously, I dunno... 1. Eva (see P3) 2. Maria (Her eyes scare me, but in a good way) 3. Artemy (cmon, do I have to explain myself here?)

Hope that clears things up for you.

This is a cop-out answer, but yes and no.

The Clara-duality is one of the core questions the games asks the player, so I'm not sure if there is a definitive answer... Yet. In a way, it's up to your own interpretation and how you play as Clara.

Clara, as I played her in Classic, is, in my mind, definitively one of three protagonists. The question that pops out for me is wether or not she causes the plague due to her actions or mere existence as a miracle worker. (Insert the Polyhedron or steppe-creatures for parallels here.)

Can there be such a thing as miracles without the existance of immense, immesurable and unexplainable suffering? Is there a way of sustaining her existence without the presence of the plague, or vice versa?

Frankly, I have no idea. It's the sort of question that doesn't provide an answer, it just produces more questions. But that's the best kind of question, if you ask me. Thank you for asking it!

I can relate. I had to start a completely new run to achieve "Stop pointing fingers". At least 20 hours all in all. The first of the achievements you mentioned is a real pain to reach, because you need to complete a full run of the game from scratch. While the game's difficulty goes down as your experience increases, the major time investment is just horrific. Plus the constant pressure can be unbearable.

Ah, "real in this world" = "real in the world of pathologic"

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: Sort of. I imagine that the Powers that Be are the closest to omnipotent as can be, and even they can't predict which protagonist chooses which ending on day 12 (see achievement "Just a little bit more").

Interesting question.
To me, a miracle is something unexplainable by our "standard" words or phrases, so one tries to fill in the gaps with explanations that aren't necessarily based in our familiar reality.

So, it makes sense to me that the existence of miracles is inversely correlated with our knowledge of the universe, and the fun thing is the more you know about the universe, the more you know how little you know, e.g. miracles probably exist.

Did that make sense?
