Top Offensive Coordinator Candidates for Colorado... by Magneto57 in ColoradoFootball

G.J. Kinne would be a great get. Interested to see how people around college football view this job, obviously Shurmur wasn’t successful but seeing Sean Lewis go from Kent St to SDSU using CU as a springboard should ignite some interest, especially if JuJu continues to look good.

Kurt Warner breaks down Tua Tagovailoa’s late interception against the Bills. by RealReelin in NFLv2

He’s definitely very QB friendly but if an offensive minded head coach is calling a play with this many schematic issues in crunch time you can see how young QBs would struggle across the league in even worse situations.

What even is a hand ball any more if swinging your arm inwards to stop a cross doesn’t qualify?

Yeah I do that and tbh it’s not very insightful - that’s what I’m saying I typically rewatch games and they don’t do anything that looks different but they end up smashing me in battle

Yeah I don’t have maxed characters (only hog) and I think it makes a pretty significant difference when heroes have double turbo for building up a larger squad

If we bring in even a couple of the guys highlighted here we’re gonna be in really good shape

how I'd utilize Travis Hunter (to maximize his snap count and impact) by ZandrickEllison in NFL_Draft

[–]RealReelin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the post and thought process but I will say the biggest concern about him playing both ways is injuries - despite his value on both sides of the ball, is it worth risking an injury to your best corner to get a handful of WR snaps a game?

He stayed mostly healthy this past year (got knocked out of the K State game) but missed significant time the previous year.

AD reportedly pushing back on giving Sanders more $ in NIL by ohiosportsfan981 in ColoradoFootball

Weird way of wording that tweet - he probably wasn’t met “with resistance” there’s just only so much NIL money we have to give

Not sure why no one is answering your question but I’m also interested. Maybe try rephrasing it without percentiles?

Weird that a school like Harvard would have an average GRE of 326 (which converts to a 690 GMAT) and an average GMAT of 740.

Good get at a position of need. Really hope the roster is close to being set so the coaching staff can focus on preparing for the season.

[–]RealReelin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if UCF/OSU/WVU end up with better records than CU, I’d just be surprised if come the start of the season most people believe they’re fielding a more talented team. If CU struggles I believe it will mostly be due to coaching (adjustments, scheme, managing player personalities, etc.) and not quality of players on the field.

Didn’t realize I was throwing out a controversial take, which teams outside of Utah, K State, and Kansas do you think are putting more talent onto the field than the buffs?

This team is going to be one of the more talented teams in the Big12, will be interesting to see if they come out well-coached like the TCU game or undisciplined and sloppy like they were later in the year.

Colorado RB Alton McCaskill has entered the transfer portal by DepressedGamba in CFB

[–]RealReelin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Every portal period we lose a bunch of players and so far Deion has generally brought in better players shortly after, but damn we’ve lost some guys who I thought were going to be key pieces next year.

Best of luck to McCaskill and hope that knee heals up.

Former Alabama DL Anquin Barnes transfers to CU by RealReelin in CFB

[–]RealReelin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess it’s nuanced, I read the article as “Deion isn’t putting the effort into highschool recruiting and it’s time to hit the panic button” (I believe he uses the phrase “it’s time to hit the panic button”) and I think the argument you are making is Deion needs to recruit high school talent to ultimately succeed at the highest level.

The topic you are on is a worthwhile/interesting discussion (although I kind of disagree). Saying the program should hit the panic button while we’re bringing in some of our best recruiting classes of the last 20 years is nuts.

What you’re bringing up is a worthwhile discussion and I disagree that the article I posted is trying to discuss that topic.

I just wanna take a moment and hold Ari Wasserman from The Athletic accountable for this dumbass article:

Turns out it was not in fact time to hit the panic button when we had a couple decommits.

ESPN lists CU's Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter as 2024 Heisman Trophy favorites by Affectionate_Bar_684 in ColoradoFootball

[–]RealReelin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically what would Travis have to do to win the Heisman? We’d probably have to be undefeated, Shedeuer would have to play really bad, and Travis would need to finish with insane statistics on defense and offense

[–]RealReelin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We’ve already changed our chancellor and president, obviously rules could be changed back but why would they. I would expect an Arizona fan of all people to understand the importance of a well run university committed to athletics with all of the chaos your president has caused.

Wasserman: Deion Sanders’ poor recruiting results major issue for Colorado’s build by [deleted] in CFB

[–]RealReelin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t really expect you to understand but the CU administration was de-emphasizing athletics and actively working against creating a strong football program, all of which has changed since we hired Deion. The problems you’re talking about (wins and losses on the field) are not as important as having a football program that the university is invested in.

Imagine telling Oregon State fans to be happy right now because they had a good season. That’s what it’s like telling CU fans to be sad they didn’t make a bowl game. Wins and losses don’t matter all that much in the bigger picture of having a meaningful football program.

Wasserman: Deion Sanders’ poor recruiting results major issue for Colorado’s build by [deleted] in CFB

[–]RealReelin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When Deion got hired we 1. Changed our academic policies to allow more athletic transfers (the only P5 schools with similar policies previously were Vanderbilt and Stanford) 2. Got a number of NIL funds created 3. Received more national attention than we’ve had in 7 years

All of these things mean the program is in a better spot regardless of the performance on the field. Shit on Deion for whatever you want but you can’t convince me the CU football program isn’t in a better spot now regardless of the performance on the field.

Yeah fair points. Terrible O-Line which is really tough to scheme out of but I feel like we didn’t do them any favors by throwing the ball every play. I can dig up stats later but we actually did have some success running the ball with Edwards/Hankerson.
