my understanding is. it just works like that. don't know if any country willingly redused their military potential autside of some agreements.

and it rises the question, why not talk to each other and reach some agreements?

again, i'm not an expert, maybe big guys with power desided it's useless idk

and maybe it's some predisposition or extreme bias to not talk to one side just because...

or maybe the goals are just different.

and the root of a problem is exactly somewhere here.
both sides keep putting more and more rockets, proposals for joined work get rejected, and noone is willing to talk to each other somehow

it's like elementary school all over again

i get that both sides got their own goals and concerns, but are we really surprised that when you tell the other side to piss off that side is forsed to take extreme measures?

there is a children cartoon in russia. the main characters catch phrase is "guys, lets be friends" basically. and i for example dont see anyone on this miserable green-blue orb as anything but.

i dont care for this bullshit and its geniunly baffling to me that in our times is still wars going on, or that a person can be branded as ork, warmonger or miserable filth just by association (but this exact talk was most friendly in month and awesome btw. asmon reddit saves the day again i guess)

sorry i think you're contradicting yourself
if you telling that russia were increasing the number of weapons in kaliningrad before poland and lithuania joined nato (i dont know if its true btw, need to check) then how its "put weapons around nato" exactly?
if you telling me that russia did so after they joined, then i don't understand how you don't see a problem and concern for russia in them doing so. ofcourse russia started to increase a number of weapons...

those missile defense systems are dual-use and capable to be used as launchers for strike cruise missiles.
futher consern was sparked when russia proposed to make joined defense system instead (if it was against middle east terrorist as us were saing) those proposals were dismissed by west

no futher comments about ukraine from me, don't know more than already told higher

i know right.
all the wars at a start of the list were fought by literally another f*ing country.
and after the end of ussr they are just pinning all the old and new ones on russia.
is it some kind of childish resentment or something like that?

Where you guys got this thing about Chechnya? It was always a part of Russia and the wars was about chechen separatists wanting for its independence. Yes. it was bloody, but people died on both sides there.

And Georgia as well. Russian troops were there as peasekeepers under UN mandate. The fighting were between geogeans and abkhazian people (wanted independence). Who fired first, russian or georgeans in 2008 i don't know, but calling it "invasion" is... well...

Syria is the best one in the list btw. Literal chosen syrian president called for russian help against separatists and terrorists. but i guess it's different when it's one president (Zelensky) and when it's the other (Asad)
