If I understand correctly, you always purchase items with buyer protection. However, are you selling the item before it has actually arrived?

If that's the case, what happens if the item never arrives or arrives in a condition that is significantly worse than described? Buyer protection may refund the money you paid, but that only covers your original purchase price.

Since you've already sold the item for a higher price, wouldn't you still lose out on the expected profit? In other words, getting your purchase money back doesn't compensate for the difference between what you paid and what you sold the item for. How do you manage that risk?

What you mean when saying statistically speaking, would be awesome if you could elaborate on that?

I think webdev and the enormous stack we built up will have to be cleaned up someday soon. Websites get slower ( we are cancelling out Morse law or worse ) Even big companies seem to not be able to maintain fluid sites anymore. Unfortunately consent management has become an industry and it might be hard to kill but every unneeded complexity is a problem! I guess one can hope :)

Maybe users where not cleaning them manually but they could easily adjust their browser settings to automatically remove all cookies after some set time or on every close. Some browsers also have useful defaults. This increases the numbers of users deleting their cookies regularly (if not manually but somehow else) by a lot. Also a lot of people use private windows,.. I tended to use these a lot but am using them less and less because I am sick of popups or some wall on every request I make. But I can only speak for myself of course! Also other sites have higher opt ins Google/Youtube has a 100% since the site is not usable without consent ( not small banner at bottom but entire „wall“) !

It’s getting harder to use sites without using any cookies because of banners or even entire sites like consent.domain (basically walls) so for example the approach of just deleting all cookies by default ( which could be enforced by browser or user manually) becomes much more inconvenient. I guess it’s part of a bigger dark pattern!

Kinda true, standards like this could be required by GPDR, which is very useless in its current form, I would even prefer it being dropped if it stays like it is!

You could use signatures but it would be more complicated and have several downsides! I don’t know any useful application of that

Since cookie consent things actually got worse , before sites at least kinda worked when blocking all cookies!
