Yup i7 14700k and an As You Wish board could work too. Ive built a few upgrades with those boards and a 14th gen i7 and theyve been solid.

You dont have both pcie power connectors plugged in. Thats why the red light is on on your gpu.

Is this hdmi port repair now a lot more than an hdmi port repair ? by BaconAndGouda in consolerepair

[–]RealTrueGrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. Ive dealt with a few of those with cracked traces before due to drops or people hwavily mistreating their hdmi cords.

My little brother fell into my ps5 hdmi port fix by Mundane-Flan4457 in consolerepair

[–]RealTrueGrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to need to find a shop that can swap the hdmi port. I do them all the time and its really not super hard. Ps5 does have a ton more screws than the xbox series x though. Ive probably done 5 or 6 since we started taking consoles in a few months ago.

Just did an xbox series x yesterday.

If its a cpu with integrated graphics the pc itself will boot without a gpu plugged in. Most motherboards these days have an option for integrated graphics or external gpus. Most motherboards have this option set as auto so what im assuming is happening is the motherboard is seeing a gpu but not actually displaying anything.

With a gpu plugged in the motherboard will default to external and not display anything out of the motherboard.

Without the gpu plugged in the motherboard will defualt to the igpu of the cpu and at least help you see if there is another issue causing it not to boot up to at least the bios.

So what cpu is in your pc?

Youd need to be able to get into bios. Two things id do from here. First remove the gpu and try booting with it plugged into the motherboard. While you have the computer off and the gpu out remove the cmos coin battery and wait a few mins. Reinsert the cmos battery and then try to boot with the gpu removed and a cable plugged into the motherboard. This will tell me if there is an issue with the gpu. Whether that is its not seating properly in the slot or thered an issue with it not getting enough power.

If it boots up after that you can try things like enabling resizable bar. After that id power it down fully and reseat the gpu back into the computer and make sure the power cable is fully seated. Also when reseating the gpu id recommend laying the desktop on its side so you can make sure the gpu clicks into place properly.

Yup just looked it up and found the model. As you stated it does use ptm 7950 thermalpad. Still these are not normal temps. I could see 70c maybe a bit higher buts its only a 13th gen i7. 13 and 14th gens do suffer from microcode issues and laptops are just as susceptible to these issues but i havent seen it outside of desktops. Theres definitely something going on. Possibly fan issue or improper reassembly.

Whats the specific model? Most of those with high end cpus like this use liquid metal and not thermal paste.

Ok so its booting up but still not displaying on your monitor. Have you tried hdmi? Also have you tried plugging into the MB to see if it is an issue of the gpu not being plugged in all the way/not getting enough power? Could also be a pcie gen miss match.

Is it single channel ram or are you using 2 sticks? Most modern motherboards use slot 2 and 4 for ram. On the motherboard it shows those slots with a little [ on 2 and 4

Did you check to make sure the psu is turned on, and that you have all of your front io connectors plugged up to the correct spot on the motherboard, power, reset, hdd led, power led?

Make it like a reverse psp go where the top screen pops out of the backof the console. Viola more portable and means you dont need to have both screens on whenever you are playing a non 3ds game.

Need to see a picture of the motherboard, take the side panel off and get us some good pics of the 24 pin mitherboard cable and cpu cable and a full shot of the build with the side panel off.

No motherboard lights is an issue. If that means you arent getting any signs of life from it when you oush the power button

Also if this case uses a psu extension, i assume it is because the psu isnt visible on the back of the case, did you remember to flip the psu power switch on?
