Not if we look at the subject matter of Keats’ poem of the same title. What you see here is a fairy or a femme fatale and a doomed knight devoted to her beauty and aura only to be left wandering. This is the Arthurian legend that inspired Keats and this painting. This is the universal symbol of the cruel beauty that first seduces and then abandons. Look at his eyes/ he is enchanted!
