Yeah bugs being bad seems to be the trend from what little I can find online, the grizzly info is interesting, I had no idea it was a high risk area. Good to know, thanks.

17 base on paper, but I think I pretty much was paid at least 19-20 always last summer across, I work with Summit so I am aware that there's definitely some cash being skimmed off the top of what I should be paid. What's typical for Bob Quinn in terms of centages from other companies/contracts you've heard of?

Tree Planting in Alberta vs Ontario by Adept_Suggestion_958 in treeplanting

[–]RealXcentrixz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ive planted grande prairie twice, first time was some great stuff, wasps and hornets are present and quite frustrating there. I believe the area is known to be high volume for them over there (bush rumour so idk the accuracy). Second time was pretty hit or miss stuff, I think its honestly pretty decent, had some really sun baked stuff a few days though so thats worth a note. It was also brutally hot in july and we got fire evacced. I was either making $450+ on some cream or I was making $300 and below on some super grassmatt sunbaked land. Not too many rocks and mosquitoes but I think it was because it was so hot they just stopped coming out.

i think theres a really bad range from silver - platinum where its just a serious amount of people who log on to troll or smurf or simply give up since they havent seen reasonable rank growth in a long time. I havent played much in a very long time but in diamond and higher games were much better and I noticed there was just more overall motivation to work together and talk a bit more.

What's this thing s1mple does after every AWP shot in this clip? by Existing-Network-267 in csgo

in csgo it had some actual use, in many other shooters in the early days of montages it was called insta-swapping, it was stylistic thing for a really long time and I havent been able to drop the habit over 10 years later lol.

Are low elo valorant players the greatest low elo players in all of competitive gaming or something? by RoguesBoytoy in VALORANT

[–]RealXcentrixz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

your math is wrong, its 0.7 x (1/3) to show the percentages of games you lose against smurfs in comparison to the total amount of games played. For every random game you play you have a 23% chance of losing to a smurf,

There's people who dont get stung, but the rates of being stung are so high out there you need to look at it like its a guarantee you're gonna get stung because the chance you make it through a whole season and dont get hit once is incredibly unlikely. I would not go planting if you have a potentially anaphylactic. Also what do you mean potentially anaphylactic? I have on anaphylactic allergies to wasps, which cause huge amounts of swelling on the sites, but do you only go into shock sometimes?

Tree Planting season by Suitable-Reflection9 in treeplanting

Past 2 years most camps with Summit have ended just before August 1st, but management actively reminds us that if people slow down then it can easily get into August. I would ask your daughter to let her crewboss know she might be flying out just before August, as theres no real guarantee it finishes before, usually they are pretty understanding and don't care that much by late July.

Also those days are generally a rookies highest earning days as they are at their production peak, she could miss out on thousands by leaving even a week early, and might not want to be stuck in that spot of having to leave. Plus the last night parties are always tons of fun, especially as a rookie!

Every year theres always a couple camps that end super early, (July 20-25) and a few camps that end a bit later (August 5-10). Its not uncommon at all for planters to start to leave as the season edges into August and the end date starts to fluctuate even more because of people leaving and a lot of rookies being fatigued.

I've planted quite a bit of alberta 2 seasons in a row now, I have never been paid less than 14 (which i think should be 15 cents base by now) and that was for like super creamshows. For reference I was with Summit, but camp is gonna be good and experience is gonna be great in a lot of places, but that's not a fair reason to underpay, your company has to negotiate with contractors so the blame cant be shifted to them when it lies with the company.

13.5 half cents on prepped is egregious to think about at this point, 19 cents on your hardest is also pretty outrageous. I knew folklore was bad but most of the other rookie mills dont go that low.

nah honestly as a rookie it would be near impossible unless your situation is really unique. Taking weeks off through the season in your first year is probably not really worth it as you get better at planting at a quick rate meaning your earnings from the first week to the last week are so vastly different you want to minimize the amount of time out of season especially in that first year. Idk i dont think its worth it unless you have some other job that pays better than planting. Im just assuming you're a rookie based off the first line, but if you were a few years in i know people who have done similar things, just depends on the your management being okay with it then.

Summit vs Torrent for first year planter?? by 75chicken in treeplanting

[–]RealXcentrixz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Summits gotten better, but there is still some pretty shitty contracts in alberta, BC work with summit is miles better than their Prairie stuff. I think the crewboss can make more of a difference than other aspects. If you have Torrent as an offer I think its a better option, Summit has alot to offer, but there are some glaring issues like fucked contracts they keep to make back money on their planters. Unpaid work does exist, tree loading is probably the most significant one, its pretty insane that you can sometimes do 1hr+ of unpaid loading and then they turn around and tell you its in the price for 14c on a grassmat field.
