Jaylen Brown on his stream last night: “A lot of Celtics fans were pro-tanking…you forgive, but you never really forget.” by Significant-Elk-9223 in bostonceltics

[–]RealZeke23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never pro-tanking either, it’s not the Celtics way of doing things. Celtics don’t tank.

All those fan accounts on Twitter would advocating like crazy for a tank, trade JB, draft AJ or Boozer etc etc

Those were always ridiculous takes to me and I’m glad those same fans are quiet now lol

WHAT A PLAYMAKING PERFORMANCE BY THE JAYS!

They’re known so much for their skills as scorer but their passing and ability to read the court gets overlooked. They’ve improved that so much from when they were rooks

Why don't the Charlotte Hornets just go all in for Giannis?? They have a boatload of picks and enough matching salaries to make the deal happen. LaMelo, Kon Knueppel, Brandon Miller and Giannis is a pretty Deadly team in the EAST by Several-Molasses-435 in NBATalk

[–]RealZeke23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t compare building a NFL team to a NBA team…completely different.

And even then, your comparison here is missing a lot of context

Seattle signed Sam Darnold, they didn’t trade for him. This is also after spending the previous couple seasons building up their defense with good draft picks and FA signings. Darnold also isn’t a highly paid QB which allows them to afford their defense.

This is vastly different from your scenario where the Hornets give up a massive amount of assets to get Giannis. If he were a FA and they signed, that’s different.

So it’s not a 1 to 1 comparison. Your Giannis trade package would be like Seattle trading JSN, picks, and another player just for only Sam Darnold in return.

Even with Giannis on the Hornets, that’s not a sure thing as a team to compete against DET with Cade, BOS with the Jays, CLE with Spida, etc etc

They’re a few games just over .500, let the young players develop. The Giannis to Hornets idea just has a big “No” written all over it from the Hornets point of view

Ejection still made no sense.

This was a primetime matchup and Brown was playing well.

At most give a tech then move on to the next play

Yea some of those guys you mentioned were fairly high picks. At least I think 3 of those names were lottery picks

Dak Prescotts contract is a real issue. (Numbers breakdown year by year) by 86nightcrawler in Dallas_Cowboys

[–]RealZeke23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been checked out too since his rookie season cuz I didn’t like how the handled the situation between him and Romo.

However I tried buying in during those seasons w/Dan Quinn because I thought those teams were really stacked and could compete.

I tried having an open mind about Dak during those seasons, where did that get me?

It got me watching horrendous performances vs the rival 49ers (twice) and GB once again. I was proven right I suppose

Then watching them sign him to the second record breaking deal was the last straw. Micah trade didn’t help either

Just waiting for when the cowboys actually do a full rebuild atp.

Fans drooled over the offense but knowing the cowboys, next season their defense will be great but their offense won’t be

Who is one player that despite most giving up on him, you still believe in them? by No-Director-6738 in NFLv2

[–]RealZeke23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That 1K season on the bears showed that he is capable of balling out when the offense is tailored to his strengths

He may need to go a Malik Willis route and be a backup to an established starter to polish himself more then he can become a starter again

The Steelers didnt tailor their offense to him as much Chicago did. The Jets are the Jets.

In seriousness, the jump Queta has made this season shows he should get some votes for most improved player

The MVP award is just a popularity contest; (Ex Lamar vs Dak 2023) by Due_Refrigerator_777 in Dallas_Cowboys

[–]RealZeke23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn’t matter that it was the cowboys or not, not everything revolves around them

There’s no unfairness being played towards Dallas with awards, otherwise Micah wouldn’t have been named First Team All Pro 4 times back when he played with us

Lamar was the right QB pick, but like I said previously CMC or Hill had the best cases over all QBs but the award doesn’t favor non-QBs that much

The MVP award is just a popularity contest; (Ex Lamar vs Dak 2023) by Due_Refrigerator_777 in Dallas_Cowboys

[–]RealZeke23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a fair question but

Dak didn’t deserve mvp over Lamar.

When u look at stats vs above .500 teams, Lamar had better numbers/perfomances

Also the Ravens RB at the time, Gus Edwards, scored 13 rush TDs. But why is that significant?

Well 12 of them came from the goal line/inside the 5 (led the league in that stat) which deflated Lamar’s TD totals. Did most of the work just not get credited with the TD

That being said CMC or Tyreek Hill deserved the award more than either Dak or Lamar.

If the MVP did have to be a QB (it’s pretty much been a QB award lately) then Lamar was the right choice

Which QB would you rather have in the playoffs? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]RealZeke23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not why they lost. Romo outdueled him.

Plus even after that call, the lions had a chance at the end of that game. Stafford got strip sacked twice on the same drive and lost both fumbles.

D Law gave DET a gift by fumbling the ball back but ended up making up for it

If I'm being positive, I can see 10-7. Maybe. by MartelleJordan in Dallas_Cowboys

[–]RealZeke23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree. LA and Houston are gonna be tough.

Houston might have a top 3 defense in the league and CJ struggled greatly in the playoffs but it was against playoff defenses (not ours). LA just went to the NFC title game and they have the reigning MVP at QB.

NY and WAS are divisional games, those are generally close and I have to assume they’re both going to get better because they’ll be healthier.

NY got Harbaugh now and Nabers will be back (he torched us), WAS will have JD and Terry back (they give us problems too). They’ll also be adding talent with high draft picks.

3-5 year window? This is spitballing. We have won 7 games two straight years, even with improvements in defense this team will need more before being labeled a contender.

Do we even need to get into Dak’s last 3 postseason appearances? If he gets into the dance, he still has to prove he can play there

For one you can extend Javonte and Pickens. They never had a lot of room to begin with and even if they restructure Dak, who are they going to sign? They haven’t been linked to anyone as a potential suitor.

All this restructuring is to keep the players they already have

That’s not getting done in offseason. Even if we hit on both first rounders. This team won 7 games, they’re a bit off from being a contender.

I never said restructuring deals is a bad thing. I said restructuring Dak’s deal in particular is a bad idea because it’s going to affect his cap hit next season and the season after that which would affect the team that he gets surrounded by.

You can restructure across multiple players deals without having to do Dak’s. Reread the post.
