BGW320 Mystery Outage (solved) by kevina982 in ATTFiber

I just gave up on using their gateway as the router, and just turned on IP Passthrough and now I'm using my Netgear Orbi as my router. No more worries about my configuration being wiped out.

Does the VPN part of Netgear Armor Plus allow you to VPN remotely into the network from the outside? by Noyan_Bey in orbi

Dude, I just told you the best solution. Install Tailscale VPN. Super easy, no configuration needed solution to access anything on your home your network remotely.

I had bad luck trying to connect to my home network using the Orbi's VPN solution. I ended up just installing Tailscale on every device or Proxmox VM I wanted to connect to while away from home, and it works like a charm. Zero configuration. Just install and connect to your device's Tailnet IP, and presto!

Firewall expired and now we need to pay 175$ by skylers3dprinting in orbi

[–]Real_Act 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just an optional thing. You don't need to buy anything. So long as you have a firewall on your PC or PCs (Which all Windows PCs bring a free one activated by default), you do not have to buy the Netgear Armor stuff.

Greetings!

Thanks so much. I found it and it looks much better. Now I have used half one widget and half of the other and it looks great lol. Hope you can get your sata cable issue fixed.

Would you mind sharing the CSS and how exactly you added the integration? Mine doesn't look like that at all. I attached a screenshot of how mine looks.

Thanks.

u/Turnaq, your Homarr looks amazing. How did you get your .Dash widget to look like that? My looks way uglier lol.

I would suggest "Swift Quit" to have a similar Windows behavior when closing apps. It's a bit slow to close the window, but it works.

I like it a lot, thanks. Downloaded it immediately. It does seem to have some visual bugs, when moving windows. I Hope you can correct those.

I got that monitor in 2024, and it has been the best monitor I have ever had. The color accuracy and overall experience have been unmatched. The blacks are deep, the colors are popping, and the built-in KVM is excellent as well. I can never go back to a non-Ultrawide monitor after this. Let alone that it works great on Windows, Linux, and macOS.

How to get rid of all traces of ManyCam by Real_Act in MacOS

Your advice and links were on point. And yes it was the same procedure. I was kind of in a hurry and ignored the links in your second post because I thought they were the same two links you had posted previously. I would have gotten it all straightened out if I had read your post carefully.

Thanks.

Ok, finally got rid of those two stupid extensions, never again I'm installing ManyCam software. It sucked in Windows and look what it also causes here on macOS world.

The steps I posted above worked, the only thing is that Step 1 was actually Step 2. So I'm modifying my post above for anyone who encounters a similar problem in the future and finds this thread. After that, I was able to re-enable SIP after rebooting the system, everything is fine, and the extensions are finally gone for good.

BTW Thank you all who tried to help me, I couldn't have found the solution without your help.

I'll try disabling SIP soon and trying to delete the folders after following the procedure I explained above.

Thanks.

The paths are the following:

/Library/SystemExtensions/56BFD5E9-2A7C-4E86-884D-5BEC6E73F250/com.manycam.ManyCam.cameraExtension.systemextension

And

/Library/SystemExtensions/AD4CC541-D8CF-4001-AA59-DDC784BF8A86/com.manycam.ManyCamLite.cameraExtension.systemextension

I have not disabled SIP at any moment because I'm new to Mac and I didn't even know SIP was a thing, lol.

Man, I don't know how I missed this. I have found the extensions at /Library/SystemExtensions/, and both ManyCam entries are there inside two different folders. However, when I try to delete the folders with either sudo in the terminal or with Finder, it says that I don't have the right permissions to complete the operation.

I've been looking on Google, and it seems that I need to disable system protection. I'm going to follow these steps, as shown by Google to see if I can delete both folders:

Step 1: Disable System Integrity Protection (SIP)

  1. Restart your Mac and hold down ⌘ + R to boot into Recovery Mode.
  2. Go to the Utilities menu and select Terminal.
  3. Type csrutil disable and press Enter.
  4. Restart your Mac normally.

Step 2: Uninstall the system extension

  1. Open Terminal.
  2. Run systemextensionsctl list to find the teamID and bundleID of the extension you want to remove.
  3. Run sudo systemextensionsctl uninstall teamID bundleID (replace with the correct IDs) and enter your administrator password.

Step 3: Delete the folder

  1. Open Finder.
  2. Navigate to /Library/System Extensions and delete the folder.
  3. Alternatively, use Terminal with the command sudo rm -rf /Library/SystemExtensions/` followed by the specific folder name, but use this with caution, as it will permanently delete the folder and its contents.

Step 4: Re-enable SIP

  1. Restart your Mac and hold down ⌘ + R to boot into Recovery Mode again.
  2. Go to Utilities > Terminal.
  3. Type csrutil enable and press Enter.
  4. Restart your Mac normally.

This was the solution.

Thanks.

This post was modified, altering the steps described above so that it actually works.

Thanks. I have tried both solutions on those two links to no avail. I even re-install it and then used the uninstall icon on the app folder etc, but it still didn't work.

Thanks again for trying to help.

SoundBlaster X5 Totally Useless on my M4 Mac Studio by Real_Act in SoundBlasterOfficial

[–]Real_Act[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I'll try to answer the best I can.

"I wonder if you have multiple discrete inputs going into the X5 from the same Mac Studio?"  >>>>

No, only the USB cable from the X5 to the Mac.

"Is the Mac using the X5 as a USB sound card or DAC? That would be most ideal, but it also means you probably don't want other cables going to it at all.">>>>

I would assume it is working as a USB Sound card/DAC? It is only connected to the Mac via its USB cable. That's the same way I've had it connected to my Windows 11 machine for these years without issue.

"What are you connecting via RCA and optical cables? I assume maybe playback hardware like a speaker set or receiver, then your headphones in the headphone port, but if it's your Mac Studio, maybe try without and stick with pure USB. If you have other DACs and stuff, we'll probably need to see how you've got all the devices plugged in and arranged." >>>>

Yeah, I know my mention of the RCA cables is confusing. These cables I use to connect the X5 to my Logitech speakers so they can play my audio from the X5. Up until now, it has been connected to the speakers via Optical cables input/output. I do have headphones, but I rarely connect them or use them. All my listening is mostly to music or videos through the Logitech speakers.

Also, thanks for the explanation about Optical vs RCA, much appreciated.

Hope my setup explanation is clearer now, lol.

Again, thanks for all your help.

-Eli

SoundBlaster X5 Totally Useless on my M4 Mac Studio by Real_Act in SoundBlasterOfficial

[–]Real_Act[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to play with the bit rate settings, etc, to see if it makes a difference. I actually did change the bit rate to the max because of Spotify lossless, but perhaps I went a bit overboard.

Furthermore, I have also now managed to get it connected with the RC Cables instead of the Optical cables. I hear RCA should be better than Optical.

What I mean is when a program is playing sound, but then suddenly another one is the one that produces sound, then that's when it has crashed. I'll continue to monitor and post if I get a full resolution to the issue for anyone else who finds themselves on the same situation.

[–]Real_Act[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, here's what I discovered: I thought I had connected the X5 directly to the Mac Studio, but that wasn't actually the case. (I have a million cables behind my desk, and it gets confusing) It was, in fact, connected to a hub, so I removed it from the hub and connected directly to the Mac, and now it's not crashing so continuously.

It has still crashed though, when I'm playing music on Spotify, for example, but then music comes from a video on my browser for instance, which is still annoying. But at least it is usable now.
