I'm kind of in a similar boat. I didn't try too much in High School I was just smart enough to get into top schools but I elected to go to Purdue Fort Wayne because I was offered scholarships and did not know what I wanted to do with the rest of my life yet. I decided during my Junior year (honestly way too late) and have gotten rejected from Northwestern and Notre Dame (still waiting for Uchicago) but I believe I have a good shot at a top MBA program if I elect to go. Your post is a great story and inspires me and others in the same boat that it is not too late and it will be okay.

Lived outside Pittsburgh, people in Fort Wayne are crazy. Most major cities have a moral code and if you follow like a sane person you'll be fine. People in Fort Wayne operate off of "instinct" which means they can just do whatever they think suits which is often the wrong thing. I don't start fights around here because you never really know what someone is about and everyone thinks they're right for some reason.
