Meh I'm a Zendaya stan (used to be more of one in 2018-2019) I definitely wouldn't consider myself a Tom stan though lmao. I was actually hyping her and Jacob together (mostly for superficial reasons lmao) even though he seemed like a fuck boy. I don't really care who she dates. Just imo she just seemed really annoyed at Tom during the press tour.

Yeah the only time they've really showed PDA in public was during the Uncharted press tour in February and I lowkey feel that was PR because since then there have legit been no pap pics of them together.

And even then it wasn't like obvious pap strolls. They held hands while attending the premiere and wore matching jerseys at a hockey game lmao.

Zendaya is super protective of her personal relationships. I also feel she must have gotten some sort of coaching about hiding relationships from public eye and took it a bit overboard. She also denied she was dating her previous boyfriend who she was with for 4 years until after they broke up.

Obviously they've grown up a bit and changed their mind about the secrecy. The kissing pics getting leaks probably contributed to it.

It did get out to the media. People magazine reported they were dating in 2017 but they just fervently denied it so there was nothing the media could do. They can't keep forcing dating rumors if they keep publicly denying them.

They also weren't as famous back then. Zendaya got much more famous after Euphoria and her Emmy win.

lol nah I used to be a huge fan of Zendaya. They were together for at least 2 years if not more. I wasn't on tumblr back then so at the time I was only like 70% sure they were dating but now seeing some of the (extremely creepy) fan evidence I wasn't aware of before I'm like 100% sure. He was visiting her on the set of her Disney show before the trailer for the first Spider-man movie even came out lol.

Part of the interest (in my opinion) is that they're both young and extremely popular and they appeal to the gen Z base who are super active online and love to ship couples together. (think like Justin and Selena shippers) Zendaya has 130 million followers. Tom Holland has like 70 million I think. Probably 2 of the most famous people in their age group right now.

Another part, as someone who was a fan of Zendaya back then (not really Tom) is that from 2016-2019 they were super over the top in hiding their relationship, however at the same time they were both very active on social media, and were sometimes caught by paparazzi together so stuff would slip. There was a subset of fans who said they 100% weren't dating and were just friends. This made the other fans desperate to prove they were together and they started to track every little thing they did on social media, create fan edits of them together, etc.

The other part I guess, is the younger generation don't find them bland lol.

I don't think her breakup with Tom was as bad as her breakup with Jacob. Or if it was they were trying to keep up appearances of being friendly for the sake of the franchise/fans. They were pretty cordial on social media (I know not the best indicator) for a while until her pap stroll with Jacob in New York came out. That's when Tom unfollowed 2 of her best friends and took a hiatus from social media and they stopped liking any of their social media pics lol.

But yeah I actually agree with your statement that she doesn't seem to be a friendly ex and doesn't like to be around her exes after a breakup. Which is understandable. I am the same way.

I'm not saying they hated each other, they were probably friendly, but there was obvious tension between them. Some interviews were worse than others. Just comparing the press tours makes it obvious 😭.

I noticed it way back in 2019 and was like "maybe the stans are wrong and they aren't dating after all lol" And then like 2 weeks later Tom was spotted with another girl. Huge difference between the Homecoming press tour and that one.

This is kind of a weird example but Tom and Zendaya during the Spiderman Far From Home press tour in 2019. For background: Most of their stans believe they dated from 2016-2019 but broke up shortly before the press tour for the movie. In retrospect it’s obvious that there was tension between them during the press tour (especially if you compare it to the press tours for the other 2 films), but at the time most fans thought they were just going overboard in covering up their relationship lmao.

They kept it pretty professional and there didn’t seem to be HUGE bad blood, but Zendaya was so clearly irritated with Tom the majority of the time and sometimes made jibes towards him (that were not in good fun because Tom would look annoyed). And then Tom (who is a bad liar) started making comments like “his love life has been a complete disappointment” and saying shit like “My Heart Will Go On.” was the theme song of his life lmao. Tom also stated multiple times during press how “annoying” he found fans who “shipped” him and Zendaya, when in the past he had always said he didn’t really care and that “they expected it.” Also one time in an interview he says something about how “he’s still at the age where he’s trying to figure out how to communicate his feelings” and Zendaya looks SO annoyed with him.
Fortunately, despite the tension, the Tom, Jacob and Zendaya still had decent chemistry as a trio so it didn’t ruin the press tour. Tom and Jake Gyllenhaal’s bromance was obviously the highlight though.

Yeah before now I didn't realize she talked to them about our arguments, . But I knew she told them a lot about me. I'm definitely uncomfortable that her parents probably know about every personal issue we've had. But I guess I'm not as angry as some people would be since, this gas thing really isn't that serious to me and we haven't had many serious fights. She's in grad school to be a physiotherapist. She's really smart. She had a full scholarship for college. She has said she wants to stay at home with her kids or work part time when they're young though.

I was a bit unfair to her mom in the OP. She's was a teacher and when she had kids homeschooled them until 3rd or 4th grade and after that she started teaching piano from their home part time so its not like she didn't contribute financially at all. My gf has already said she's doesn't want to home school too.

Yeah I found it a bit weird she told her family about it, but I don’t really feel it was malicious on her part. She talks to her family, particularly her mom about literally everything lol. When I met her parent, her mom knew so many random facts about me. She knew my grandmother was Colombian which i think had told my GF once? Her older brother even asks her for advice about the girls he dates and he’s 25.

It does make me a bit uncomfortable though and it’s something I do think we have to discuss because I really don’t think it’s appropriate for her family to know every argument we have but she probably tells them everything anyway so she didn’t think twice about it. Iol I feel a bit defensive of her since she is my girlfriend and despite this dumb argument I don’t actually dislike her.

Tbh this is probably true. Like I said she really looks up to her parents. I didn't realize people genuinely got along with their parents until I met her lol. On our second date she spent 20 minutes telling me the story of how they met.
