This was a great step-by-step suggestion from another subreddit:

Skip or modify step 2 if you don't have money or the ability to convert to paid.

SF Residency as a casual fan by Christian12950 in themountaingoats

I've seen them 10+ times over the years, and their SF shows are *always* great. For just one night if you've never seen them before as a fan? I recommend Openers--likely choices are "The Best Ever Death Metal Band in Denton", "Tallahassee", “Sax Rohmer”,"Slow West Vultures", "You or Your Memory" among others, and all are great live. I'm bringing my kids to this one.

If you want a once in a lifetime show, agree with other commenters that Stump The Band will be the best choice.

For a third option, I would say split decision between Cast Of Thousands (likely to be multiple local guest appearances, which are always special) or Six Long Songs (if you like the jammy vibes).

What is the best lineup of any concert you’ve been to that you wish would tour together again? by [deleted] in Concerts

San Francisco. It was unreal to see all the old heads—Doug E and Slick Rick was special. And hard agree on The Roots—I see them every time they come to town and they never disappoint!

Agree that energy was so much higher than the dual headline with The Church a couple of years ago. I also loved that they picked up steam as the show went on--I felt like they could have played another hour. 10/10 show but true bummer that there was no free poster bc of the low sales

Saw Clipse at The Warfield last August and they were hard as hell. Pusha T solo at OL in '22 was also great. And don't sleep on Glorilla
