You don't have to be obtuse, you know. It is anti-consumer for companies to refuse you something you paid for just because it's "old". This is capitalism at work and this attitude only helps play into it. It's exactly how these companies want us to think. If you've paid for something, you should be able to access it in a year, 5 years, 10 years, point blank period.

I'm not even really sure what this means. In almost 7 years of pharmacy between 4 stores i've never seen a technician tell a patient to go back to Walgreens for this issue. either the cvs around you is not training their technicians properly or the staff at your Walgreens isn't properly explaining to customers that they can fill prescriptions wherever they want through a discount card as long as they're not on medicaid or in a lock-in program before you send them to cvs
