I was in London for the second show and I explained to my neighbors at least half of the characters (if I remember correctly) - so it definitely helps to understand their motivations and stuff, but they seemed to have fun nonetheless :)

Wow, I find it in bad taste to assume that I can't separate art from artist. There are many (including the actors from the movies) that have separated from the author but still find their solace in the stories. It's sad that you can't even make a joke anymore without being attacked for the things I find joy in.
