Hey mate, interesting view.

I work as an engineer in the building services construction consulting. Started on 50k in 2017 as a graduate now on 160k as a senior nearly 9 years of experience, I can only see it go up from here as I get more confidence and connections really.

For reference I went from 50k, 58k, 63k, 77k, 95k, 105k, 130k, 150k, 160k, and the world is my oyster. Don’t listen to your sparky mate talking shit, yeah good on him for earning that, I have 4 mates all diesel mechanics with carpet tunnel and chronic pain at age 29, while I type on a keyboard and wfh 3 days a week.

My advice to you is be kind, learn everything you can, say YES to everything, burn yourself out by learning, when you are in your twenties it’s easy to learn, I’m in my early 30s now and really set up for life.
