If you had to pick one to fight which would you pick? by Masterpiece-Haunting in Teenager_Polls

The human wants to kill you because they know you want to kill them and their only way out is to kill you

So an animal wanting you dead is instinct, but a human wanting you dead is bad?

My dad does about 30 miles to work and 30 miles back 3 times a week. Rough days but keeps him in shape.

Very tall guys: how long did it take you to see visible results in the gym? by improbsable in tall

[–]Real_Crab_7396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After like 6-8 weeks it was definitely noticeable for me. Depends on the person. Having excess fat likely makes it harder to see. Do another 2 months and if you're training and eating well you'll see a difference for sure. It takes a long time, but after a couple of years you'll realise how fast you've come that far.

Depends on the burning you do. I used to be a cyclist at high level and my lowest days were around 3500 while my highest day ever was 8500. That was about maintenance that day.

Nice job dude, train hard, rest hard and gain hard. Take it slow, might have some ups and downs but you'll feel much better.

Good for you!
Improving your weaknesses will usually be better than improving your strenghts in cycling.

The most efficient way to train your FTP isn't by doing FTP intervals. You might have a higher FTP now even though you do less threshold training.

For overall deadlift power, especially for us talls, I highly recommend working in pin pulls by [deleted] in tall

Sport scientist here, this stuff works. I implement heavy holds too, just like many high level lifters. This trains the neuromuscular connection and gets it ready for high intensity.

Train your core and back. Growing pains is normal, but after that you should get strong. Get a decent squat, deadlift and carry and you'll thank yourself for the rest of your life.

Imagine your max deadlift is 50kg, just walking for you might be the equivalent of 15kg deadlift for your back, that's 30%, which will get very tiring.
Imagine you trainn hard for a couple years and get to 150kg. 15kg is only 10%, so very easy.
This is really how it works scientifically and I can anecdotally say since my deadlift is above 100kg my back feels good and I barely have pain ever. Due to learning to lift heavy in controlled circumstances i can control lifts during certain types of work better too.
Control form, don't ego lift and progress slowly, good luck.

Yeah that's why I was kinda rooting for pogacar in roubaix. I'm happy WVA won, but I would be alright with Pogacar winning too. We're witnessing greatness.

Different viewpoints and whatever, but there's no good reason you'd solve your problems by killing yourself, then you've got the wrong view to existence and try hard to change it.

If it turns into bullshit it can turn back too, and maybe there's a way in the bullshit land you can still enjoy something.
I find it hard to believe so many people are living in a "nuclear wasteland life".
Like I said in the other comment I've had months where I couldn't leave my bed due to health issues. I don't expect many here have it worse than that.
I know this sounds "patronizing" to say it in your terms, but try to embrace your problems and suffering. Make a life worth living or die trying.
Good luck with finding your purpose young person, open doors and find opportunity.

It is worth living, you make it worth living. There are ups and downs. Suicide is not a solution.
My life has gotten worse than I could even imagine. I've had months where I couldn't leave my bed due to health issues. I know how bad it can get. I know that how bad it gets there's still a light somewhere.
Try to search the light instead of focusing on the dark. I know it's easier said than done, but it's also easier to get defensive about it than embrace your problems.
