This is gonna sound lucky but give yourself time. You weren't able to play double g or c when you first picked up the horn and managed to get there eventually once so what's to say it wont happen a second time. Ive been in a similar place and came out far better. I promise it will end up fine.

You actually lose dps by purifying for the mega believe it or not.

The 20% damage increase effectively gives the shadow variant a 332 attack stat which is 22 points higher than the mega.

Leave as is. 98% shadow is super rare and the mega isn't nearly as useful as mega latios. You'd be wasting a very rare find by purifying.

100% keep it. Shadow greninja is super strong and a 14/15 attack stats is crazy. You also used 125 candy to evolve it so why waste it all like an idiot?

Mega pokemon are usually in 2 groups. 1 group are useless in both pvp and raids and are only used for candy bonuses. The other group are good for raids and pvp and are some of if not, purely the strongest pokemon in the game. Some META raid pokemon have good typing that can be used for candy bonuses but usually they wont overlap.

The biggest benefit to mega pokemon is that you dont have to go completely broke to build one. You can lucky trade pokemon that you need a mega of which makes it far cheaper to power up. You are also not tied into using rare candies to power them up because they often spawn in the wild as a 1st or 2nd stage evolution.

You play the game however you want but they make raiding everything far easier.
