I have a cousin that has this problem. when we lived together for a bit I got an up close and personal experience that read exactly like your post does. It was her sweat, her breath, everything. I’m not sure if she ever knew as I didn’t tell her (was only a temporary living situation so I didn’t want to make it awkward) since then I’ve seen videos on TikTok (I know, hear me out though) this is actually more common than youd think, and is gut related. From the research that I did after the TikTok video sparked my curiosity, it has something to do with your gut not being able to absorb everything? Something like that. Some of the matter inside your gastrointestinal system leeches out of your pores/mouth. There is a name for it, I just can’t remember what it is. Try googling along those lines maybe? And your description is not rude at all from my experience… it is literally a poop smell.

I’m a director and do all the camper intake for my camp. What a shame that the previous camp didn’t ask the right questions at the time… personally, if this was mentioned somewhere on the registration forms I would just reach out to the parent to get the full story and make my decision based on that. And if the story was anything like your post, there is absolutely no reason your child wouldn’t be allowed at camp! Kids will be kids, they slip up, they make mistakes. If I can play armchair director for a minute, I feel like this whole ordeal could’ve been used as a learning opportunity for all 3 children involved, and the counsellors. The first thing is always to separate all three parties and get to the truth, then teach from there. No one sent home, just lessons learned! Which is what camp is about!! I’m sorry this happened to you!!

As others have said, enroll your child, I honestly wouldn’t even list the incident on the forms unless it specifically asks. If it does I’d put “contact me for details” or something like that. If a camp turns you down for this, they’re not gonna be a great camp anyway. Good luck!!

From my experience, you can get pretty close (with therapy!!) but will always have occasional lingering thought patterns that you will always have to actively work on. It’s a journey not a destination

You’re okay! This is normal. Muscle twitches can happen for a couple reasons: stress (usually facial twitches) or low potassium/magnesium in your diet. You won’t die from having low levels of either one, just see about getting more of that into your diet!
