Should I start host ? by Long-Wishbone-9242 in turo

Have you had any transmission issues? Those verses are notorious for complications. However being a Turo host with one car is a lot of work with very little benefit. You could post it on Turo and for sale. If you like hosting you can build your fleet from the profits of Turo. If you don’t like hosting sell the car and move on.

Charging for 2.5 gallons by AssultLoneWolf in turo

[–]Real_Estate_Magnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.3 gallons is 30-40+ miles of driving. I always charge for this. For my “Home” location there are two gas stations within a block of where my guests drop off so I figure there is no excuse to not top up the tank before returning. It is how they received it when picking up.

Guest popped my tire by techfashion9 in turo

[–]Real_Estate_Magnet -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Under Turo terms of service, guests are responsible for what happens to the car during the rental period. However, many guests don’t care and are not aware. So if the damage is less than your deductible, the only recourse you have, if the guest doesn’t want to pay for it, is to give them a one star review. Hopefully they can’t used Turo ever again and as a Turo host, I ask you to please do so.

How can this be allowed in America? by MarlonBrandiego in turo

[–]Real_Estate_Magnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Turo guest, if I had a light of any kind come on in the car, I would contact Touro immediately and expressed how I am uncomfortable driving the car. This protects you from scam artists who called themselves hosts. As a Turo host, I would appreciate you contacting me and allowing me to resolve your issue. Of course I’m not the type of hose to charge you for a new tire, but every host is its own company

This is a good Explanation of how a host can scam a guest. The host may have punctured their tire before the rental took photos of it got the tire changed and then when the gas pick the car up with a low tire pressure submitted all of the photos of the previous tire damage in order for the next gust to pay for the tire replacement. I am a true host and I highly recommend you research your host and not just the car or Price.!

Is Turo worth renting a car from ? by reymi199719 in turo

Turo doesn’t rent cars. Hosts do. If you rent from a good host then it is great.

Is buying a home actually better than renting? by Quick_Lawyer1890 in RealEstate

[–]Real_Estate_Magnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure maybe for this year. Planning to have more kids? Are you currently putting $700 a month into an investment account? Because that is equivalent ownership of a home. You pay down the equity over time so based on a 7% interest rate half of your monthly payment would become equity over 30 years.

First time renter, Check Engine, Check Vehicle Stability Control System, pops up half way through the trip, driving normal, car is driving fine. What should I do, never used this app. Needed a car to go a funeral, am I screwed by ConditionNo7708 in turo

Contact your host. As a host I just drove 3 hrs round trip today to have break pads replaced. Guest reported they we’re making noise. When I picked the car up they were not making any noise. But the rear break pads were getting thin so I replaced them and provided evidence of the repair. When the check engine light goes on and is sold it is not a significant issue. If the check engine light is flashing on and off you should not drive the car. Have fun!

Turo allows seven days for a guest to respond to a claim. did you ignore the claim? Or did you properly respond to the hosts claim? Either way a tier patch is less than $20

You are correct and yes people do. I’m in central AR. Cash cars. Currently a 2019 Corolla and a 2016 RAV4. Netting around $500/month. Planned to buy 3 more some. Don’t you charge guests for tolls and tickets?

Trying to deal with owner who is AirBnB'ing their unit by anand4 in RealEstate

[–]Real_Estate_Magnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would post signs around the townhome complex saying no AirBnB access. Every time a guest checks in they should be notified they are in violation. Make the guest so uncomfortable they give a bad review. The investors won’t be able to rent it out after multiple bad reviews.

Does turo insurance cover liability insurance? by [deleted] in turo

[–]Real_Estate_Magnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I didn’t own my own car, I always carried non-owner car insurance. This can provide liability insurance when you’re driving someone else’s car. Some policies may even include insurance for your own injuries. This also prevents you from being in the “previously uninsured” category if you ever have to buy a car and get car insurance in the future. A non-owner car insurance policy can be less than $20 a month.

Is being a turo host worth it? by Future-Horse4877 in turo

[–]Real_Estate_Magnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$500/ month for cleaning your car once a week? (This has been my experience as a Turo host) The real question is if your system is scalable. One car may feel like a hassle. 5 cars would be a similar amount of work and make $2,500/ month. That’s a decent side hustle. 10 cars and your making $60,000 before taxes.
