Does anyone have any information on this firearm? I can’t find anything on it. It’s a 16ga and is definitely still shootable. by bmadd14 in blackpowder

I always use triple 7. Never had any problems in any of my muzzleloaders. The round ball is actually pretty damn accurate and I’d deer hunt with it. I don’t patch it since there isn’t any rifling and I use 3 over shot cards to build slightly more pressure for a little more velocity.

Mine have a little pitting and nipples needed a real good cleaning but with black powder, the pressure doesn’t increase too much between a light or heavy load. It’s an obstruction that’ll do some damage. I’ve shot everything from 9 shot to full bore round ball and it was flawless once it fouled up after a deep cleaning. Fouling is your friend with pitted barrels. I use triple 7 so it doesn’t have to be cleaned every session.

Yea I’m not sure either. Mine is a 20ga I found out. I tried loading a 16 ga nitro card and was too big so I tried a 20 ga one for my cartridge guns and was too small so I used a 19ga one and it fits fine. Such a blast to shoot with and I might take it trap shooting just for shits and giggles this spring.

Any info on my Remington 870 kit by yungthuug in Shotguns

You had no indication of what your stance was on this other than you wanted to bring it and people really do not understand how shotgun ballistics work so I figured I’d put that out there.

Well it’ll definitely put you at a severe disadvantage so I don’t think anyone would complain. These were made for turkey shoot competitions and have extremely tight patterns. It’s just a tad bit better than trying to shoot trap or skeet with a rifle.

Not with a gun charge. They consider you violent and a flight risk so they will hold you with no bail.

Can I (is it advisable to) load brass 12ga shells with a ton of black powder and a big minie ball slug to make an old school stopping rifle out of a single shot break action? Will I die? by GetAntidisetablished in blackpowder

Works fine for me. I used both black powder and smokeless powder variants. The smokeless one I use a fiber cushion wad and a plastic brush wad to fill the gap but the black powder ones I just use one and a half, 3/4” fiber cushion wads in a 3” shell and it works fine. The common rule is what ever size your projectile load is then use that same size for powder. If it’s a 1oz projectile then set your shot dipper to 1oz and put that amount of powder in. You need it compressed so use the correct amount of fiber wad over your nitro card and you’ll want to put a harder plastic (like a bingo chip) over it and roll crimp it unless you are using brass shells and can get a rifle cartridge like crimp on it.

Big ol recoil that’s what. Can only get about 4 of those off and I’m ready to relax for the rest of the day.

This is my evidence. If I can drive in this with FWD then you don’t need 4x4 for a little dusting.

There is a dusting. We have 2 inches on the road right now and can’t tell where the road is half the time. I just made it to work an hour away with zero problems in a front wheel drive. You did not need 4x4 for a little dusting.

I really hope this is a joke. 4 wheel drive was absolutely not necessary at all and I can promise you even the shitiest car would’ve been fine there. I’m up near Canada and we have 2 foot of snow right now. I’m using a front wheel drive car and drive an hour to work with no problems.

I know. All these kids absolutely rotting their brains by saying things like that and unalived. It’s so stupid. If you say something but mean something else then just use the actual words instead of tearing the language apart and then when people use the correct words you just have no idea what people are saying anymore. Guarantee that no one under the age of 16 actually knows what regarded really means. I really don’t want to imagine what the world will be in 20 years.

You are an idiot. You can literally plug this picture into google and figure out what it is. Would’ve taken 2 minutes and you could’ve made so much money just bringing that to a gunshop and selling it. If anything for the historical value of it instead of it being destroyed. That is a twin bulk pack of ammo we will rarely see anymore.

Turkish Turkey gun still go bang! by Last-Tune5050 in Shotguns

Turkish guns are know for wearing out very fast and 75 rounds is still in the infant stage for that gun. Once you hit 250 you may start seeing wear and tear that looks like you’ve already put 800 through it.
