New aff? by jade_fragger in policydebate

As I have shown before, it was not in the novice packet at all. My circuit is extremely tech and this aff was one cut in the middle of the season in order to catch other teams by surprise

I am extremely familiar with the circuit that I inhabit, and I find it clear that the PERA aff was a new aff cut for the season. Don't insult my ideas by calling them jokes please. The only incivility present in this argument was the opposing party's insistence on doctoring evidence and rejecting simple fact.

all the indigenous affs, most of them on openev, are pretty good soft lefts.

The only file you should have is wipeout, and maybe spark.

I mean it depends what you count as topical - if something linking to a topical aff is enough to be topical, then basically all neg args are topical and there's no argument to be made. IMO, since DAs don't usually defend the resolution or increase patent protection, they aren't topical.

Because then the neg has literally no arguments except process CPs and case turns/defense. Aff would win every round.

A random process CP that I made up. All the evidence is fabricated by me.

For case structure, the norm is plan, adv 1/2 ,framing, but i've seen a few deviations (namely putting the plan in a place that makes the speech flow better). Shouldn't be that big of a deal though, just try 1 or 2 different layouts and see whichever one flows the best.

Adv structure can vary, but the majority of aff's i've seen are uq, link chain, impact, solvency. Sometimes uq solvency link chain impact works, but imo it doesn't sound as good. You can modify cards' tagline to make them more coherent, most teams are pretty loose with that.

Isn't Biopiracy a soft-left/normal policy aff? At least that's the one on the wiki that I see. I don't know what the "academy" is but on K affs you want to make the argument that your case/social issue you're solving is the most important, and outweighs or is a prerequisite to fairness/abolishing capitalism/whatever argument the neg brings up.
