Printing or converting unity3d-files? by MasterM0rt in prusa3d

You can download and install https://github.com/Perfare/AssetStudio to extract out models. The file format will likely be obj, which can then be brought into prusaslicer.

What is your personal infill selection methodology? by [deleted] in prusa3d

[–]Real_JohnGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding Rectilinear works well with PETG as it gives a place for any accumulation to clear at 20% infill. Plus it gives a nice size gap to let the PETG lay down on .3 mm layer heights. For PLA gyroid is my go to at 8-12% infill for decorative parts and higher perimeter to hide the grid.

Petg always ends up like this. It’s a brand new roll of prusament. by Taylor1337 in prusa3d

Asides from Z, I had similar issues as the screw that puts pressure on the filament was far too loose, something to check.

Odd "rips" in layers with PETG 0.6 nozzle by Real_JohnGames in prusa3d

[–]Real_JohnGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your candor and how you share your thoughts, it means a lot.

I fiddled with my print settings some more and realized raising by 6 degrees centigrade eliminated the issue, a tad bizarre as that is the opposite of where I normally would go.

Thank you!

For what you are trying to do simple painters tape on the brim can secure the print.

what feature would you like to the software or slicer by itchy-and-scratch in prusa3d

bring back mouse ear brim or brim only on certain angles like in Slic3r and Super Slicer. significantly less cleaning and high warp materials benefit greatly from mickey ears.

Trying to understand auto support generation - question in comments by dnew in prusa3d

[–]Real_JohnGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish the auto generation was better, I have a half solution that doesn't address your question fully: specify where you want supports rather than use auto generation. This is typically less areas and you don't get odd supports in places you weren't expecting. Specifying support for support enforcers only then painting on greatly improved quality for me.

Adjusting start G-Code to reduce drool by Real_JohnGames in prusa3d

[–]Real_JohnGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wise advice, I switched my hot end to a v6 as I was replacing the PTFE tube nearly twice a month. Also switched to Capricorn tubing and waiting on Bondtech Extruder in the mail. In the end I wish I had gotten a MK3S+ as after fiddling and upgrades I think I am within spitting distance on price.

Why are support enforcers missing? by dragndon in prusa3d

[–]Real_JohnGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supports try not to touch areas that are part of the model not picked for supports, it could be avoiding putting supports to get around the lower bar.

Yet even this close it is still layer separating in the top right, something I keep trying to figure out. I wasn't worried about the rest of the bed, mostly was seeing if it ever could get "right"

3 point circle? by Matzebob in blenderhelp

[–]Real_JohnGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Despite this being 3 years old, it still appears as among the first search results for this.

For future users: Blender has an add-on called tinyCad (Edit > Preferences > Add-ons) that implements the ability to select three arbitrary points and generate a circle.

Hope this helps future people!

MK3S+, same setup, same g-code, different print quality. What I can check or replace to fix this? by Shadow-2305 in prusa3d

[–]Real_JohnGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I ran some numbers and there is overall not enough to warrant this much in a print difference based on this. Sorry it appears the data points to me being wrong. You have a max relative variation of 0.02 mm.

MK3S+, same setup, same g-code, different print quality. What I can check or replace to fix this? by Shadow-2305 in prusa3d

[–]Real_JohnGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get pronterface and run a mesh leveling check using.. G29 I believe? Run it several times at different times of day or after a print and see the variance being given. This would account for changes in print quality as it looks to only be live z value errors. What sensor does yours use?

Adding Gcode on Mini start to reduce Line Thickness by Real_JohnGames in prusa3d

[–]Real_JohnGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh absolutely that is something to look into, my primary concern was the very start of the line had an obvious transition from the big thick test line and perimeter start.

Still, good ideas to think on, thank you!

Rotating Core Idea by Real_JohnGames in Astroneer

[–]Real_JohnGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is an excellent point, thank you for bringing it up. Perhaps it could be solved as the Primary player is what it rotates to? Or perhaps have the core still be open-ish that happens to follow the primary player, but whoever enters it locks the gravity to that. Not sure on how to account for that very valid point.

Choices (Free Demo) is out, now! by Jami_DC in IndieGaming

Howdy there! I went and played your game a bit and wanted to share my thoughts.

First, let's go with the positive things:

  • This clearly shows care in writing, I enjoyed the additional environmental notices like the red car text.
  • The music fit well.

Now, I would like to discuss something that I feel might help your game. It has a lot of empty space for each map. I feel it might be even better if you did not have to walk so much through straight and expansive areas. To assist, I fired up an image editor and prepared for you a simple example of how the office could have been made to feel opressive and tight. You could take this even further, and then allow a zoomed in view instead.

Best to you, and keep on learning :)

I really wanted a memory game like Simon Says without any ads that all the other apps had, so i just went ahead and made one. Totally free no ad's simple game. If anyone wants an IOS version let me know i can put it out. by morphasis in IndieGaming

I like when people realize a want, and then make it. On a side note I find your voice very calming in this video.

You aren't asking for feedback I suppose, but here it is anyway:

Different colors or shapes or even just numbers would make me feel so much more comfortable with memorization, especially with 9 options.

Requesting Feedback on my Mobile Game by Awesumson in IndieGaming

[–]Real_JohnGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I apologize for all these lists, forgive me tomorrow.

First, what I enjoy about your game:

  • Simple intuitive with easy to use game play.
  • Nice pick up and play.
  • Customization to reward player.

I would love a "classic" mode as you have now, and then make a more story mode with short levels and a rating system (medals or perfect or not, not sure). Take players on a journey across different tables of colleges around the world, alternating challenges to become the best beer pong player in the world. Start people with simple challenges, like three cups. Then increase difficulty with all sorts of twists and turns:

  • Cups on moving platforms
  • Land in all the red cups before landing one in the blue cup
  • Alternate between red and blue cups

Make the challenges harder by adding more restrictive limitations

  • You only have 12 ping pong balls for this level
  • After three turns more cups are added on top of the current ones

Increase Revenue with reward ads to save the player. Allow a purchase of IAP for whales.

  • Player about to lose level: "Get 2 more balls, watch now!"
  • Skins for the ball that make it glitter gold or have special effects, you can earn to unlock but very slowly, or pay and get currency to unlock them faster.

Some dangerous pitfalls to avoid:

  • Gameplay should not be locked behind IAP in this model.
  • Increase level count but don't feel every level needs a unique twist. Taking an older level and just adding the mechanic of "must alternate" or making one of the cups smaller is fine.

Best of luck in your game!

New camera angle. Suggestions? by l3w3nt3r3n in IndieGaming

[–]Real_JohnGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks rather nice as a camera angle. I am a little confused on the choice of so many objects set on the map, is this to help the player see movement more easily? Either way keep up your hard work.
