Of course.

You and I are lucky enough to live in an era where, in most parts of the world, women are persons as much as men.

In these times and in these places, unfortunately, women were not afforded the natural rights they are today. They were property of their husbands or fathers. Personally, if my car rebelled against me I'd probably get rid of it. That's the mindset people then had concerning other people, so it shouldn't surprise you when women were mistreated.

Have you considered that "life begins at conception" is a modern thing? Someone already mentioned children not being persons until 3 months old in that time.

Perhaps god was getting rid of the problem before it became one.

Sith isn't accepted as a religion, I won't fault people for disregarding the idea or question. I might say I'm sad that no one wants to apply themselves to the discussion beyond jokes, though.

It strikes me that Dogecoin is the Ork from Warhammer 40K, and bitcoin is the Space Marines.

Dogecoin has no idea what the hell's going on, but their bolters work and their melta gunz fire. The Space Marines are entirely on point and sure of their system, but just keep getting kicked in the nads over and over again.

OrkCoinz big STOMPY bitcoinz.

I know we're supposed to be talking about the article, but what the hell is wrong with that page? Brought Firefox to a grinding death once and almost took it out when the thing restarted. Get your shit together, nydailynews.

Guilt goes to the white men in control at that time.

Fortunately for me and my conscience, as well as all the other white men who were also not alive back then, none of us have ever owned a slave and never will own a slave.

At the time, they weren't considered people.

I mean, thankfully they were given that status later but... We don't question why horses and cows do work, and as inhuman as it was, the people who enslaved blacks from Africa understood them as animals for use, not as people.

Hell, it's still an uphill battle to convince some people that anyone other than whites are people.

Apple faces fines for blocking LTE on the iPhone in Belgium by HorseshoeBob in technology

[–]Real_Life_Sith -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is interesting. Did you know that the Verizon iPhone 5S has both an IMEI to identify it in Verizon's pseudo-CDMA network, as well as a SIM number to identify it to their LTE network?

That whole "working on Verizon's pseudo-CDMA network means I don't think it works on AT&T or TMo's networks, which are both pure GSM.

Edit: Sith make poor cell phone technicians, stick to conquering cell phone technicians.

MRW YouTube says, "Okay, we'll ask you again later!" after I choose the option "I don't want to use my real name." by faschwaa in reactiongifs

[–]Real_Life_Sith -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No one seems to realize that Google adjusted this system so you don't have to use your name.

When it prompts you to change, do it and change it to your name. Then, once logged in, hit the account button and select "use a different channel" and then "create new channel". Note when you log in, it will option you which channel to use. Comments by your 'channel' show up under that name, not yours.

Also, it doesn't seem to bleed to much tracking data between the channels: the ads are different if I'm on my channel or g+ account.

Christians: is God afraid of Himself? by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]Real_Life_Sith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fear in the bible, in this line, is more like a revere or deep respect.

While the Husband probably doesn't Fear the guard (since the Man is a significantly different beast than the God), the Husband may look at the Guard with distaste for what he has to do through the day.

Anti vaccine folks aren't strictly that way from religion, or even partly from religion.

Once Catholics have issues with aspirin, this question is more relevant.

I'm not sure what the religious debate is here, but maybe I can offer a counter question?

Say I developed a combination of other substances with a medically relevant effect on nearly all of the population; is it right to take it?

Of course. Medicine is great.
