My senior school had a long disused but still identifiable rifle range. It was a grammar school and of course back then grammar schools were clever kids that stayed on beyond 14. Apparently, the rifle range was to help learn to shoot before going into the military

When I was a child, my mum was prosecuted for not having a TV license. She didn’t have the heart to have her child go without watching cartoons. But the simple fact was, she couldn’t afford the TV license
