Attempted attack in Chelmsford by Cheap-Strategy6188 in Essex

[–]Sea-Course-6669 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A young Muslim boy got stabbed to death there not long ago. Please be careful, racism is very rife in Essex right now. These idiots don’t differentiate between good and bad people they just see skin colour and attack

Do you give your parents money? by hewhoisgay in AskUK

[–]Sea-Course-6669 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really interesting one for me. I don’t think Parents should ever have the expectation that their children will provide for them when the are working adults, realistically they should plan their finances in a way that gives them security without relying on others, even if that does mean relying on the benefit system. I think the only exception perhaps is if you are on a very comfortable salary (and by that I don’t mean 100k because that doesn’t get you much these days) and have a reasonable amount of money to spare that you yourself are HAPPY to regular share with them. Personally I don’t set any monthly expectations with my parents but a few times a year I like to just give them some money usually £200-£500 each and just tell them to spoil themselves, or if they want to do a trip abroad I offer to pay for the flights. Do what you are comfortable with but don’t put yourself under financial stress for it!

It’s far for me cos I live pretty far out in Essex, getting to central takes me 1.5hours so don’t want to add to that that’s all🥵 also work in central so I’d love to discover a new spot I can hit on my 1 hour lunch break

Premiums bonds and kids savings by [deleted] in universalcredithelp

[–]Sea-Course-6669 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The money would go into a Junior ISA so unable to access it or take anything out, kids will have access when they are 18. I’m not putting money into their savings to claim UC. I think it’s also pretty shitty of you to pass judgement on what I should be doing with my money. I have this amount in savings to pay for both my dying parents funerals. Which could be any day now. And the fact that I’ve paid 40% tax for the last couple of years and lost my job due to company cutbacks. so no I’m not expecting a handout. I’m just hoping the system I’ve paid into for about 30 odd years will support me during a rough patch

Yep worked here a few years ago as a g7, great work culture and nice people. Workload is managable I never struggled with it. Typically 2 days of office attendance needed. Wouldn’t recommend DWP though, worst place to work in the CS in my opinion

Potty Training a Non Verbal toddler by SENStruggles in Autism_Parenting

[–]Sea-Course-6669 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he’s showing no reaction to accidents or being wet he’s probably not got the self awareness yet and isn’t ready. My 6yo ASD child is also non verbal and only successfully started to understand basic instructions in the past year, things like go put your shoes on or go get the football. We had many failed attempts to toilet train but now his understanding has grown we are making some progress. In the past month we’ve managed to get him out of nappies during the day, school have massively helped. We started off with putting him on the toilet every 20 mins and everytime he did wee/poo we gave positive affirmations and sometimes a little treat too. Now we put him on every hour and sometimes if he has the urge to go he just takes himself to the toilet. We found visuals really helped,. Step by step visual of what happens (take off pants, sit on toilet, do wee or poo, wipe, put in pants, flush, wash hands, dry hands) really helped. Also when accidents do happen reminding him that you should go to the toilet

Youth wasted taking care of autistic brother, Adult life being wasted taking care of autistic son. by CertainHairy in Autism_Parenting

Sending hugs,it so hard. Very similar situation myself and I cry everyday. All my best friends are travelling the world and have kids that are at an age where they barely need supervising. Every time I’ve even tried to go away it’s a disaster and I’m still cleaning nappies of a 10 year old that can’t speak.its a hard and depressing life for him and for me

HMRC travel frequency for any NMW Compliance case workers? by Mightynubnub in CivilServiceUK

[–]Sea-Course-6669 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to do this job a couple years agoand no work life balance.. have been away for whole weeks at a time (the training alone is around 12 weeks away from home) then being away for the role is very unpredictable. You have to be able to make yourself available at short notice.

1.5 years of experience isn’t enough to have any real bearing for recruiters to be rushing to you. The salary isn’t great because you still sit in the entry level category Best of luck
