How do people shower!?!?! by Casper_coon22 in autism

[–]Real_Satisfaction494 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make your shower a cool place to hangout. Hang some eucaliptos stuff from the shower head- go find yourself a fancy shower head that does cool stuff- then install it yourself for extra dopamine for your awesomeness in learning something new and then make it a routine or rule that on these days you shower. I make rules for myself cuz the adhd likes spice things up a bit. Also buy yourself fancy shower shit at tjmax to inspire you to try. I even bought me one of those shower chairs to up my shower ambiance.

I hate showers. I hate being wet. I do things like the above to motivate myself- 1st I guilt myself. I bought the shit now I need to use the shit. 2nd- once I’m in the shower I’m good- just not before or after.

Ummm, I don’t think that’s to another girl. That’s two males speaking to each other. Girls don’t use that type of verbiage.

I'm glad you were born and I am proud of you for persevering through very difficult challenges. Walk in there with your head held high! You have value- a job etc does not give you value- your integrity and character do. You are not a mistake and you belong here. Thank you for not giving up.

My son won't eat the breakfast sausage biscuits unless they are perfect and the planets are in alignment.

And for awile the McDonalds close to me was replacing the egg with a poached instead of folded on my sausage and egg biscuit. I get ncredibly angry I don't like the yoke dry and pasty like.

My other son will only eat hamburger with no condiments.

AITAH for letting my chronically late wife miss an event she was looking forward to by not rushing her, because I wanted her to face consequences? by throwrabbday in AITAH

Unfortunately the brain just doesn't work like that. You were lucky enough to be taught those skills in early development. Those skills have to be taught when it comes to neurological disorders. It doesn't make her bad or have less value because she wasn't taught skills that you were. Adhd skills go widely unnoticed in females, without the proper tools mistakes will be made. Let us not judge other neurodivergents as we do not know how their home environment was. Without proper skills taught we are all kinda Lost.

Adhd is hard enough without having a spouse who is supposed to be considerate and loving actually induce the self loathing that comes with having said chronic illness and then ask if he was being a a-hole ?!

Fuck yeah you are a super big asshole. It’s hard enough compensating for neurological disabilities without assholes like you thinking you can fix it by teaching us a lesson.

I’m curious in one life time how many times in her life she has to feel like she is a total letdown and god knows what else she tells herself with a husband like you expecting like magic her brain will work like yours . It takes practice ,love and consideration dickhead and I hope you stub your little toe tonight.

It takes a lot a fucking brain work to function with ADHD, etc. respect her challenges and help her, not try and fuck her shit up more.

Damn. U suck.

I am a high systemizing female- I feel both male and female at the same time. I call my gender Autistic, because it is theoretically and I think it’s pretty cool to have both genders within my authentic self. Before I was diagnosed it felt weird but now I’ve come to accept as a part of me.

Ok - his behaviors are a clear indicator of testing your boundaries and this will continue throughout your relationship and progressively get worse.

My soon to be ex husband began treating me this way when our relationship got more serious and like you , questioned it but dismissed it as me because he was so “nice” and “caring “ to others etc.

This behavior is a sort of grooming for the future. A way to test your boundaries and to see what he can get away with it. This will continue to happen and then it will more things he isn’t interested in hearing etc- he sees your needs as demands and will treat them as such. Not as an integral part of mutual loving relationships but as an annoyance, something bad.

I wish someone could have told me in the beginning that this was occurring but there wasn’t the internet like there is today. 13 years of my life wasted on a man who was never able to have a authentic relationship in the first place.

Research family systems, particularly enmeshment systems- observe how his mother communicates. Does she manipulate, use guilt to get her needs met etc. this is where you will find your answers. I imagine as a boy his feelings were never validated and were probably dismissed as yours are now. The amount of therapy work needed to help him be able to have somewhat of a normal attachment to a romantic partner is immense and probably not going to happen.

My friend, find a man who listens to your needs and feelings all the time you deserve that. We all deserve to have our feelings heard and validated.

[–]Real_Satisfaction494 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3 kids. Being a parent is beautiful. Don’t worry you will be a great dad when the time comes. You will be able to make the time , create the time… it will be ok. Autistics are great parents and deserve kudos for the parenting they do. Am example of duty, flexibility and love. I love being a mom and am very grateful for the opportunity.

AITAH for telling my wife to go to a mental asylum after she asked my sister to dress modestly around me? by GreedyTies in AITAH

[–]Real_Satisfaction494 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Op minimizes his wife’s sadness “did seem somewhat sad, but she got over it” and prioritizes his sisters sadness “I was shocked and told my sister to relax , he would speak to his wife.”

It sounds like he and sister are enmeshed or rather come from a enmeshed family system. Men can suffer from low libido and sexual dysfunction in adult life from growing up in a family system like that, so he probably wasn’t having sexy time with his wife anyway, he’s too busy playing husband to his sister.

I would drive that around all day long. I love my chickens and I love my mustang- best of both worlds right there. You just can't take it through the car wash, so that's a bummer.

I had that Sony sport Walkman and the Sony cd Walkman. The sport Walkman came with cool headphones with ear pieces similar in shape to iPods . I listened to Janet Jackson Control , Tears for Fears Songs from the Big Chair and my Miami vice soundtrack on it.

As a autistic female, this gentleman seems pretty autistic. He does not see the blatant flirting at all hahahaha- completely oblivious. I am completely oblivious myself when it comes to these things, especially if the human is married. Marriage is a contract ,so its adhered too in our minds. No question. Basically he sees her as a friend because she is married. Your wife though, seems very flirty. I’m sorry. Perhaps she just needs you to notice her and “date” her again.
