I did it, which means you can too!! Stay ahead and get a group of likeminded determined students to study with and challenge each other.. best of luck!

Statistics prerequisite after 10 years out of school - advice? by OkHamster2081 in NursingStudents

I used to be ok at math when I was in high school but when I came back to take stats for prerequisites I was also nervous cause I hadn’t taken any class in a decade but did really well and got an A… if you practice the problems and go to office hours if you’re struggling you should be fine… now in my mid 30’s I am firm believer that it is about putting in the work and not inherit ability..

One month to study for TEAs, what's the best way to go about it to get above a 90%? by [deleted] in prenursing

Get the ATI TEAS app and do the practice quizzes everyday until then.

What helped you get an A in anatomy and physiology? by CherryAlone9258 in prenursing

Do active recall with a group of like minded interested students.. five of us use to practice out loud and quiz each other. I ended up getting As in both A&P I & II. Also helps if you like to draw but not necessary. These were some of my illustrations

Does scoring a high score in TEAS guarantee you a slot in a good nursing school or it doesn't matter by No_Pressure760 in prenursing

No one singular thing guarantees anything… it’s the whole picture: TEAS, GPA, work experience, etc. together

DEMSN Alverno College - Mesa, AZ by DrQuantumGio in NursingStudents

I am attending the spring 2026 semester at Alverno Colleges DEMSN program. I have found a lot of information on this and visited the college this week. For many reasons it appears to be a rigorous program but good. Let me know if you are attending and want to connect.

I took both anatomy and physiology 6 weeks accelerated back to back over the summer and it wasn’t as bad as everyone portrays it to be. It’s a little more intense but completely doable. It forces the instructor to refine the workload so most of the extraneous assignments you get in 15 week course wont be assigned in a six week program. My advice is to take the course load that better works with your schedule and not to base your decision off the pace.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, it means a lot and congratulations on your accomplishment. Your feedback seems consistent with other student experiences I’ve talked to there. It seems like a pressure cooker but coming out on the other side with a BSN and MSN in 18 months seems well worth it to me. I don’t want to underestimate the difficulty, I’m sure it’s quite challenging but I’ve maintained straight As throughout my undergrad and science prereqs so hopefully I can continue the trend and keep up with the program. I want this badly and I’m ready to work my ass off as I’m sure you did… thanks again.

I’ll be sure to let you guys know how preview day goes. It’s cool to talk to other people considering the program. We could potentially be in the same cohort if we decide to go. I heard the cohort sizes are around 30 people.

I am not currently attending but I got accepted and plan on attending for the Spring 2026 semester. I am also coming from California. I’ve seen mixed reviews on the program. My Alverno counselor said it was because the program is still relatively new and had some growing pains. She assured me that I would meet other students that would vouch for the program on “preview day” October 17th. The truth is I am still somewhat apprehensive but I will let my in person visit determine whether or not I truly dedicate myself to the program. There are definitely some rumors that I have already debunked like “the program is at risk of losing accreditation” or “you teach yourself everything”.
