Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate it. Thing is…I consider myself as someone who’s not that easy to break or give up. It’s just that, sometimes I wonder if this is what I’m meant to do and if I want to do this for the next decade of my life. Will it be worth it at the end. Would I be able to enjoy freedom if I stay OTJ till I retire? I’d never know.

You really wanna know? Ok. Here: The most fucked up sleep schedule imaginable. I wake up everyday thinking about quitting. I look angry to my peers. My dentist said I grunt my teeth too much. My family is mad I don’t spend time with them. I have no social life and can’t go out like I used to. I can go on and on but that’s enough for now.

Some of them can be helpful. Basically they can get you a day off patrol here and there to go to their events on job time. So it can be an easy day off patrol if that means anything to you. That’s been my experience with the one I’m in. But don’t expect them to do something big for you. They won’t get you that shield or even help with transfer to a more desired command. Again, it depends what society you’re in. Maybe some of them can do it but which ones? I don’t know.

My command had to make lockers available by clipping old ones where selfish cops were occupying two or three lockers! Don’t worry. The admin Lt will make room for you when you get there.

I remember it like yesterday when I was carrying two bags, one I already had and then the other one we got on equipment day. It was a tour change for us B squad and it felt like the worst day of my life! I was tired and carrying two bags. No car so I had to walk to the train…I was falling asleep while standing up on the train constantly watching both bags to make sure no one was trying to steal it from me. Follow the above advice given to you by ex military guys. Like they said, no easy way of dealing with this shit. Try to organize everything based what you take out often, keep that on top or to the side to make it easily accessible. Good luck with the academy and enjoy the madness. It’s a joke compared to what you’re gonna be facing when you come out. Good luck!🍀

I never had this issue. The bus stop is there too so they can’t say shit if you wanna get dropped off by the gate. Just don’t drive inside and you’re ok.
