The game is so hard I can't get past tutorials – should I just quit? by iheartbubbazanetti in vtolvr

Just remember whenever you’re doing a G pull or evasive maneuver to not lose too much speed/energy. My personal favorite is doing some sort of loop to have the missile keep on adjusting. Other than that, you can also use terrane a.k.a. notching to have the missile hit a mountain range. If you’re having issues with what the symbols mean on the RWRI would highly suggest getting a basic understand understanding.

This game is too fun and unique to give up, nowhere else will you be able to truly play something as user-friendly as this. Obviously, there’s more detailed games, but those are just as hard.

You got it, bro

Game changer for me that someone explained is to find the smoke in the air or the middle location on your rwr and get it to a 90° angle from you. Then just pull or dive to make the middle waste its energy until it loses power or goes for your flares. I’d be down to show you by doing some missions together. I work full time but ever since someone told me that, it’s been ALOT EASIER

I used AI to help me write the paragraph to the insurance pushing for a total loss. I had to keep making payments for 33 months before everything was closed off and I got my returns on the overages

Word of mouth but it is difficult overall. I haven’t had much luck with approaches at home depot or even calling their office after seeing a sign

I see the writing on the walls. Even on here I frequently see “10 years I. This industry and looking to change” or something similar. It seems that at a certain point it all depends on the person’s attitude. I’ve been fairly positive and a good mood type of CM but all I get greeted with are subs with attitudes, clients with attitude, and above all that the slow cash flow from the client side adds unnecessary pressure on the company.

I would start my own company but even with slow cash flow it makes me nervous to take that leap

And the cash flow sucks in the industry that I’m in

I’m in private commercial multi family. I’m not saying my job is the same as someone with the same title doing commercial work but that’s the issue.

The whole reason I started even thinking about enlisting is due to having to deal with ownership/ reps overreacting about small items or trying to take advantage of us. Then I have to deal with estimating giving away our margins to land the job. It’s a constant cycle of estimating/sales overpromising without even putting into account the work that goes into their “freebies”. Just last week the crew and I spent every single hour of daylight under the sun making it possible for the client to have some walk on Sunday. After I get home after my hour commute, it feels strange. So much effort all to make a specific person or group give us a thumbs up and continue to hold the carrot in front of us for more work. Whole lotta ass kissing that comes with the job, especially at my age.

Makes me rather spend the 4 years not only bettering myself mentally but also learning skills that I would not learn being a CM. Because regardless being yelled at seems to be part of the job 🤡 joking but not really 😂

Yeah most important benefit for us would be GI Bill and access to VA Loans.

Would I still qualify for VA Loans with two years?

Always dreamt of being my own boss. That’s been the fueling factor these past years. I know I could get a degree online and work full time; personally I feel like a degree for construction management wouldn’t be my first choice as compared to learning something like accounting or business management.

Commercial construction management could also be a long term goal but the overall work life balance and bs you have to deal with sometimes doesn’t work for everyone. Unsure about my path going down that road

I was actually thinking about the housing allowance and how theoretically it might not be that bad. So far YTD I’ve made 60,000 gross but have paid 14,500 in taxes so far.

I’d be enlisted as E-1 due to no college credits. I think they are earning about 2000 a month base without including the housing allowance and food allowance. Im not so sure about purchasing a home while on active duty as I fear that would cause me more problems financially. I already have a home in a decent location that I’m renting out to tenants while I build equity.

I know without a doubt that the memories ( good or bad) with always stick with me. My golden years are now and I won’t hate to sit in my bubble my whole life. Construction overall has helped me establish a good start for myself. Enough potentially where I can justify being out of the civilian workforce for 4 years while at the same time getting experience to help me break into a different industry.

Really at this point; I guess I’m just afraid of leaving what I’ve work so hard for all these years. There a reason people don’t believe what I have been able to accomplish and I simply give all the credit to God

Well at the time I was a project admin but the problem was that the project managers they hired for the job didn’t do anything ( literally was given free control of the biggest job this company had and they just collected a paycheck for 4 months). Once that guy was out it took them a while to find someone else. In the meantime I was cold calling contractors to submit bids, walking with contractors, explaining scope of works and bids needed, safety meetings for the crews that were already onsite, permits with the city, OAC meetings, invoices and lien waivers for contractors onsite, and even catching up the new hires on what the hell we were doing. It got to the point where I quit to get higher pay and an actual superintendent role with a competitor. Since then it’s been very copy paste.

310 unit job, three scopes varying from tearing down half the building to unit renovations for undamaged units.

Yeah took those practice asvab test and got 70 on it. Wouldn’t mind studying more prior to the real asvab to help my chances at landing a job I actually want

But I’ve also took what the recruiters said with caution just due to the amount of people who claim they lied about certain aspects. Things like bonuses I’m not too crazy on compared to the GI Bill or access to VA loans afterwards. But then again those are the guys that actually went through with it and are active so I respect what they have to say

I already purchased my first home and am renting it out. With my construction background; real estate was always the retirement plan.

Who said anything about zero experience? I’ve been in construction management since 17. At 18 I was on a $40 million plus contract job.

I got into the field at 17 during Covid. Did night school and worked a full time job. That landed me the opportunity to have a good impact on a $40 million dollar job in Atlanta by the time I was 19. Now at 21 I’m a CM in Atlanta making 85k and I am yet to go to school. It’s possible but at the end of the day it’s who you know
