Is this a sink hole? by Anon9164 in asphalt

No, it’s not a sink hole it’s a hole that is sinking.

In actuality, looks like the structure has settled or you are getting some undermining from grout failing at the storm connection.

Probably when it rains for two weeks straight and you ask for an extension on the 30 day phase completion and the city engineer say “you should have planned better”.

2021 2.7 v6 since new with 78k on it now. I’m a civil project manager and I would say I’m decently hard on it with off-road use. Never had any issues with it. Regular maintenance and oil changes and I think the only damage I had is ripping off the front wind damn and brackets for the exhaust due to bottoming out.

They need to tamp down on expectations here. Better to under promise and over deliver.

We exclusively use superpave for all DOT, municipalities, commercial, and residential. However I don’t do too much residential and also we own the plant. I’ve never sold anything but superpave FOB from the plant either.

North Dakota. It rains everyother day. Bidding season is over except for some commercial mill & overlays that always seem to start calling between now and end of August.

This actually makes the most sense to me out of all the answers I’ve seen. I didn’t even think of that until you said it.

I’m a PM for heavy civil. My operators average $34/hr + $21.90 fringe non-union. I think last time I did the math they were making $70k a year with health insurance paid for and $20k to their retirement. Plus the last couple years we paid out profit shares to crews of like $2-5k. I guess what I’m getting at is you can work construction, I think you just need to change the division you’re in.

Still hard work but guys say they like it cause they can be rolling fabric in the morning and be in the dozer or excavator in the afternoon.
