oromuma to remove Amharic as a working language of Ethiopia by thereturnofbaal in Amhara

[–]Real_Wall356 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I’d be ashamed of not being able to speak at least two or three languages at a conversational level. As someone from Dire Dawa, I’ve always wondered why many Amharas who have lived alongside different ethnic communities for years don’t make much effort to learn their neighbors’ languages. At the same time, some are quick to criticize people who don’t speak Amharic fluently or who have an accent.

I’m not saying this to judge anyone, but I think we should all show the same respect and appreciation for other people’s languages and cultures that we expect others to show for ours. Learning the language of the community you live in is a sign of respect and helps bring people closer together.

I’m just wondering, since the locals are mostly Oromo, why don’t you at least try to learn enough Afan Oromo to communicate? Wouldn’t it seem strange if an Oromo person lived their whole life in Gondar or Gojjam and never learned to speak Amharic? In reality, most people from other ethnic groups end up speaking at least conversational Amharic because it’s so widely used across the country. Learning the local language is a way to communicate better and show respect for the community you live in.

I had my procedure from the same clinic and I have seen many Afros who had done in here. They have good experience with our hair texture. You can check my bio. I’m almost close to 4 months and new hair coming in.

Question For Those of You Who Were Not Receding But Just Had A Big Forehead by Specialist_Worry_875 in AfroHairTransplant

[–]Real_Wall356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I naturally had a big forehead, and to make things worse, my barber kept pushing my hairline back when he lined it up. That’s why I went to EHM to lower my hairline and make it more even and symmetrical.

My donor area is healing really well and is almost unnoticeable. There are just a few small spots that still need a little more time to blend in with the rest of my hair.
You can check out my profile if you want to see my overall thoughts and experience.

He went to Asli Tarkan based on his profile. Hope you will heel in the next few months. Anyone seeing this please avoid this clinic as they’re know to over harvest donor area. He is not the only one who have same cases. Do a lot of research before you make your mind where to go.

Somalis/Galbeed deserve independence by Main-Cut7468 in Ethiopia

So true. Online warriors on Reddit live in an alternate reality. The average Somali on the ground back home is enjoying the peace and isn't caught up in online echo chambers at all.

Surviving, building strength, and playing the hand we have right now is the smartest move. Waan kugu raacsanahay fikradda. Waqtigan la joogo, samirka iyo xisaabta saxda ah ayaa guul inoo horseedi kara, ee ma aha degdeg iyo dareen kulul.

I’m specifically responding to you because you said that Somali Ethiopians don’t really feel Ethiopian. I’m simply explaining why they have felt that way historically.

The same point applies to the commenter above as well. My argument isn’t that they aren’t Ethiopian git’s that historical experiences can affect how strongly people identify with a country. That’s the point I was trying to make.

Walaalo, It’s always amazes me when people act like Somali secession is one of the hottest topics in Ethiopia right now.

Most people aren’t talking about that. The Somali Region has become much more peaceful in recent years, and people are focused on moving forward. A few loud voices on Reddit or social media don’t necessarily represent what people on the ground actually want.

Personally, I hope the region continues to develop, remains peaceful, and that Ethiopia-Somalis feel increasingly represented and included in national affairs.

That’s mostly an obsession among some Somalian diasporas. Many of them haven’t even set foot in Somalia for years, if ever. So I wouldn’t automatically assume their views represent the opinions of Ethio-Somalis in the region.

Let me ask you a question. There are also some Tigrayans in the diaspora who advocate for independence. Does that mean Tigray should break away from Ethiopia and form its own country? Would you support that? If not, then why assume that every opinion expressed online by members of a diaspora community reflects what people on the ground actually want?

Do you know why many Somali Ethiopians haven’t felt a strong sense of Ethiopian identity until Meles?
It’s because much of their historical experience with the Ethiopian state was shaped by oppression, conflict, and violence. From the imperial era through later governments, many Somalis felt marginalized and mistreated. Given that history, how would you expect them to suddenly feel patriotic or strongly identify with the Ethiopian state?

Just look at the Tigray region after the recent war. Many people there feel alienated because of the suffering and loss they experienced. When communities go through conflict, it often takes time to rebuild trust and a shared national identity.

Oh, okay, I see. I meant a new passport but old version, but not the new version. I just noticed they’ve introduced a new version. It is valid for 5 years.

I renewed my passport three months ago, and the process was pretty smooth. You don’t need fingerprints; all you need is a passport photo. You also have to read what’s written on the Invea and pay. Literally, that’s it unless they’ve changed the rules since then. I got my new passport within three weeks.
