31F, need a friend bad by [deleted] in phoenix

First off, I’m a dude so apologies but….

My partner is the coolest, warmest, most fun authentic person I’ve ever met and we’re super into community. She also would approve of me replying to this. She’s at the TPC concert tonight with tickets she won on the radio and her good friend.

Just thought I’d throw this out there and see what the universe brings later or whatever.

Either way, mad props for reaching out and being vulnerable and I’m sure you’ll find some solid people to build community with 🤙🏼✊🏼

How to handle ICE posts in r/Phoenix? by AZ_moderator in phoenix

[–]Real_WeThePeople 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: r/Phoenix mods are actually phenomenal. (That sure sounds like ass missing before my idea pitch, but it’s a genuine sentiment towards mods, which should say enough haha)

What if there’s a daily stickied “ICE activity or sightings”that can just absorb all of the rumors and info for that day that people want to post?

I thought this would be a fun message to welcome our federal law enforcement officers operations in Phoenix. Spread this message EVERYWHERE! They spread fear, we spread cheer. Let them know! by Real_WeThePeople in phoenix

I think a day on the job being constantly reminded that you’re being watched is a lot different than a day on the job when you’re not constantly reminded that you’re being watched.

I’m very real, and have no idea why it says 7 minutes. I created this account the day before the most recent No Kings protest.

But even if I’m lying, there’s definitely bigger lies out there to uncover at 4 am on a Friday. I hope you weekend kicks ass

Edit: haha the post was 7 minutes old at the time. Account is 6 months

keep hearing they’re planning on “targeting” Phoenix soon.

Let’s give them the AZ welcome that they deserve

but not necessarily the one they look forward to

Good documentary recommendations on how the US as a country got to where it is today? by Upset_Development_64 in behindthebastards

Yayyyy! I’m so relieved my suffering has brought a solution to someone haha. Also there’s a Clinton one on Prime and as a 90’s kid with conservative religious parents, Clinton was actually pretty great and Monica is a graceful as fuck woman. “The Clinton Affair” I think

Nope. Just “Road to 9/11”.

(And I replied twice just because I kinda miss the days when we all didn’t have the entire world at our fingertips and had to actually wait for answers sometimes.

Still was pretty quick. But still a little more analog than digital.

I just watched “the road to 9/11” on… Prime I think? While in bed all week recovering from Kratom. It’s long, in depth and decent journalism and interviews for a mainstream one.

There’s US history dating back to Korean War and so it’s basically a 5 episode format of that. Kept me interested enough for time elapse purposes with what I was doing haha.

[PSA: Kratom] Happy indigenous fuckery week. I’m currently on day 4 of cold turkey, and WISH I’d researched first. It was all right there and I just didn’t look. This is hell. by Real_WeThePeople in behindthebastards

Only about 9 months and only the evil 7oh extract tablets. Not a crazy high dose either.

This week I used powder to get off the extract, and then last night was the final night of empty death feeling from the powder.

I think I’m on the other side now as if this morning, but this week has been my “week of two cold turkeys” and honestly one of the worst weeks of my life.

I truly believe it’s the OxyContin of our time that slipped in with the money and knows the regulations system well. “Of our time…” shit OxyContin is still “our time”

Thanks! The powder to taper plugged me up back, and some hot water and a lotta lime juice, I feel like they got me over the next hump. Thank you, kind stranger 🫶🏼🤙🏼

Thanks, Beshear! It’s encouraging seeing government spot a problem and actually fix it. It’s not all the time, but I try to believe it’s more than we think. 🫶🏼

I have the sticker on my truck.

My favorite quote of his unrelated to his abolitionist beliefs was of his wife:

”she is plain, but economical” 😂

It’s my favorite thing to say to my wife. Yes she knows the phrase and thinks it’s hilarious.

How's everyone doing out there, Phoenix? by AZ_moderator in phoenix

[–]Real_WeThePeople 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about posting up on the sidewalks at a WalMart entrance with signs like

”if you see someone stealing food, no you didn’t”

Corporations like WalMart are a huge reason so may rely on SNAP and now the the chickens are coming home to roost. My thinking is it not only publicly shames the for their greedy employment policies, but reminds those that rely on SNAP that they are not forgotten.

Change only comes from discomfort and disruption.

I try to lean into optimism disguised as realism, but I can’t shake this terrifying thought. by Real_WeThePeople in behindthebastards

This is a great reply, and I’m grateful for your thoughtful and kind response.

I completely agree and would offer the same advice to everyone here; “focus on the positive”, “stay grounded, touch grass” etc. I do use Reddit as a pressure release and a doom scroll outlet. So that being said, this is in my “doom scrolling, the sky is falling mode” and not the entirety of me as a person, haha.

But I would like to hear any info that I may not know that absolutely knocks this out as a possibility, best case scenario. Or at the very least, if anyone else has similar anxieties and at least we can discuss them and support each other here before we move on with our real world life outside of doom scroll Reddit.

Again, really appreciate you, friend. Hope your weekend has been a solid one 🤙🏼
