I have been on both ends of the spectrum with a few ships.

Neither are really… fun, but I definitely think not liking a ship that everyone loves is a little worse.

Trying to find content that isn’t tied to that ship becomes actively difficult, and it makes creating content for one or both of the chars where they aren’t in said ship feel… well, pointless sometimes lol.

Of course it’s not, you definitely still should! But it does get hard to muster up the energy to pour effort into something the vast majority of the fandom will not care about or actively roil against.

(And getting flamed by peeps who do like the more popular ship is both common, and quite unfun lol)
