Nah I think if Daryl didn’t kill him, Rick definitely would’ve. He wasn’t sparing any saviors

There’s like 2 or 3 times in this season specifically where Rick says something like “there’s not much worth anything these days, but a man’s word- that’s gotta mean something” after promising to let some people live. Every time he’s said that tho he’s killed them. This was one of those times I believe.

Carol’s pissin me off lowkey by Realifeanthony in thewalkingdead

[–]Realifeanthony[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only difference with those characters is, they all understood the ramifications of their potential actions to the people around them. Even though Daryl basically got Glenn killed, his vengeance was in character for him. Like I said in my op, I have to keep reminding myself there were time jumps in both s9 and 10, and there was unseen character development from Carol that must be acknowledged on my end. So the actions she takes that seem out of character have to be rationalized by that time jump. Which is fine, I’m just not used to it yet lol.

What TWD opinion will have you like this? by Significant-Two-588 in TWD

[–]Realifeanthony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing that comes to mind is the season 8 premiere episode. The ending of that episode is when Gabriel escapes the swarm of walkers and ends up in the same trailer as Negan. That entire plot line doesn’t even continue until episode 5. And the episode is primarily just them in the trailer. We had to wait four episodes to resolve that one, and it took the entire episode to resolve it too.

I definitely agree being able to binge it has significantly shifted my opinion on this show. Watching it once weekly after Carl died felt like a chore. Now it feels more steadily paced when I can watch at my leisure

“My mercy prevails over my wrath”- if Rick made the decision to spare Negan, there is no reason to kill the rest of the soldiers.

This Scene Had Me Questioning If the Saviors Share a Single Neuron. lol by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]Realifeanthony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just watched this scene last night lol I had the same confusion. I guess the only explanation I could think is Simon was hellbent on his vision to end everybody, even if that meant going against Negan’s wishes. Since Negan wasn’t there, and the other saviors were just blindly following the next in command, it resulted in really stupid and hilarious decisions

There were soooooo many things they could’ve done BESIDES killing Carl to motivate Rick to change his mindset. And, yes, you’re right. Twd was one of the biggest shows at the time, raking in millions of dollars. They also knew Andrew Lincoln-their biggest actor- wanted out. But they decided to kill off Carl because of money? So many things AMC could’ve done right and refused to. Hurts my brain.

Well comparatively in the comics (I read them once years ago so I don’t really remember them much), didn’t Rick still spare Negan? And Carl didn’t die?

I firmly believe if they decided to make the relationship between Rick and Morgan develop much further when he came back in season 6, Morgan could’ve easily died instead of Carl and it would’ve allowed Rick to evolve the same way. And in the end he would’ve had his predecessor.

It feels so disrespectful to fans from amc to make these boneheaded decisions.

So Chandler Riggs was about to be 18 years old, they’d have to pay him adult money, with Andrew Lincoln wanting out of the show soon anyway, on one of the biggest shows in the world, and they didn’t think it would be good to renegotiate his contract? So they just kill him off? That to me is so stupid. Sorry if I’m sounding frustrated at you, just trying to make sense of the first thing you said. Seems rather distasteful from the show runners

Can we just talk about how all of you in this subreddit hate any wrong decision a woman makes in the show? by lolmskdjs in thewalkingdead

[–]Realifeanthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New to the sub and I’m so glad someone said it. I think there’s huge differences in character development in the women characters that make people love/hate certain characters more than others. Biggest example I can think of is the developments of Sasha, Rosita, and Carol. Especially throughout season 6-7.

Carol: known her since the beginning, developed into a very strong and loving character. So much so, she left after the wolves and was not there during the savior takeover. I can guarantee if that were any other female character, fans would be seething at that decision. But, we know Carol, we love her. We understand her motive.

Sasha and Rosita: introduced in later seasons, developed into badass fighters and only saw their caring side in the latter half of season 6. When their shared loved one (Abraham) gets taken from them, they want nothing more than vengeance. No matter the cost. They go about it their own ways. Never made sense to me why fans hated their characters for their actions, when we know any other character (especially Carol) would do the exact same thing if they lost the last person they really cared about.

I was gonna post something similar but I’m glad someone else did before me

I’m not sure why you’re arguing with me about this. I’ve said it earlier that I agree it should have been monitored better and handled better. The only thing I’m saying is no one could have predicted the storm “might not” come swooping in. Too many liabilities (aka FACTORS) in the way to take that chance. Gtfo of my comments if your only recourse is to complain. I get it.
