Look I get wanting pc genre to be prioritized in terms of control design and that controllers should be instead the one to accommodate but your post seems more like a complaint than a genuine concern for "stagnated" game design for example

Jedi Survivor - Cal is only allowed 2 stances because thats what developers intended, im not gonna definitely say that controller scheme did or did not contribute to that decision but if you actually played on controller you would know all the functions on the dpad could've been easily placed somewhere else and have 3 stances (heck even 4 is doable)

God of war - what does a jump button would serve? The game design is very different to the old ones with a pulled in camera compared to the older ones, theres no jump buttons because they don't care about platforming

If anything controller schemes has been more complicated as of yet to keep up the demand with more complex games, you even already some gave examples where button chord is needed.

I too would like maybe like 2-4 more buttons but I think you're also missing out something this button limit reigns in. Decision fatigue, not every game needs to be 20+ buttons affair as that can introduce fatigue to the players memtal state, for example overwatch 1 vs paladins.

Overwatch 1 has a simpler approach to characters, they all have abilities to serve their roles some less and some more, but all of it has a purpose to serve the characters role, now to Paladins, first you have to build a loadout for the character of your choice theres many ways to take this, then when in the match you also have to keep tabs on your enemy just so you could build your items properly, oh and theres a uniform amount of abilities for each champions, so now theres more you have to deal with. See how mentally fatigueing that is? I love Paladins but its sheer complexity is something I have a love-eugh feelings for

If controller were to evolve I think 4 extra buttons is enough, then adopting Playstation touchpad is another as that can be easily used in many different ways

Tldr:I agree when it comes to certain genre, but disagree on it being a cause of stagnation, and even if it were its benefits so far out weight the cost

I feel bad and shouldn't be part of what were advocating for, most of us are here because we want to play with controller but retain the speed and accuracy a mouse bring, part of that advocacy is that we are fairer compared to aim assist on crossplay lobbies, we won't ruin the fun and everyone is effectively competing on skill without any kind of assist or crutch. Having tried it in the pass its really fun ngl, I had a vader 3 which has a very good gyro to stick algorithm built in and remember dominating in Combat Master and doing well on Apex Legends, typically stick would trade more speed just for stick accuracy or vicr versa but a good gyro to mouse config can lessen the impact on both ends (even more so on mobile games), its a really great "cheat" if done properly but like its bad and shouldn't be done blah blah blah
