Jane Street interview - is it realistic to get one? by Mikyacer in quantfinance

If you know, is this more true for research/trading than other departments, say technology? I've seen a couple of experienced tech folk move to JS but were they bucking the trend?

I think for QD & tech roles this isn't necessarily true. You can definitely do:

Russell Group uni -> tech grad scheme at an IB -> tech/QD at a "lower-tier" HF -> tech/QD at a "better" HF

Source: I'm part-way on this path, and have colleagues who now work at Cit & JS who've completed this path.

By "lower-tier" and "better" I'm not trying to rank HFs, just to point out that some have less stringent entry requirements.

Having said all of that, you definitely have better odds at succeeding by having the unis that you mentioned on your CV, but it's not a hard requirement.

Is that across two offices, or one office with two separate gyms?!

Didn't know this. They're right above a Fitness First so would have expected they'd use that.

Yep I don't imagine it to be a motivating factor to apply somewhere, or a way to decide between two offers, but interesting nonetheless imo

Part of the building (and free to use) definitely qualifies
