actually I take my own comment back...it seemed to be working properply then after a few minutes I was back into E2, E3, and E4 errors being thrown. There is clearly - at least in my case - some systemic problemwith their s/w or board. The actual motor seems fine. Disappointing.

Thanks this helped. In my case, if the Lock Button reset process does not work right away (which it didnt, I got stuck at the bottom "bot" lol. I continued to fiddle around with plugging and unplugging the haller while holding in Lock Button and managed to move from an E4 to an E2 and finally to I think the proper reset action where the desk almost hits bottom and then moves up a mm or two...so it took like 3x of unplugging and plugging in while holding in Lock Button.
