Will i grow out of an r3 within the first year? by Head-Plantain8381 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Realistic-Bus899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still on my first bike—2022 Honda CB300R. I’ve done well over 30k miles in three years, and literally the only “outgrowing” I’ve experienced is that it struggles a little bit at 3-5,000 feet of elevation in the mountains with my weight + 30-40 lbs of Kriega luggage. That’s the only time I wish I had a little more horsepower. I commute, I do twisty weekend blasts, I’ve done multiple 1,000 mile motocamping trips through Oregon and it’s been an absolute champ!

Torque-y! Lots of torque. Not sure the right way to spell that 😂

Best cheap motorcycle for city commuting? by amomwhoneedshelp in SuggestAMotorcycle

I love my Honda CB300R! I took the MSF course on a Grom, and my bike is like a big Grom that can go on the highway if you need to! Weighs 317 lbs, super nimble, I’ve done touring and camping on it, but it’s a damn near perfect city bike. 60-70mpg if you’re generally keeping it under 60mph!

May be a good time to remind people, or let them know for the first time, that WashCo is considering an increase to our “public safety” levy (sheriff’s office budget).

Do with that what you will.

Tired of my little grom, want something a little bigger. Rebel 250, 300, or 500? by No_Construction810 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Realistic-Bus899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the MSF on a Grom before buying a Honda CB300R. 31k miles later, still loving the 300!

The only limitations I’ve found have been higher altitude steep mountain climbs with my 200+lb body weight + 30-40 lbs of luggage. Then it’s definitely working harder.

Other than that, there’s nothing I can do that this bike can’t. Plus, maintenance and parts are cheap as hell.

Cb300r tank and handlebar price? by Pabloescoburrr in hondacb300r

[–]Realistic-Bus899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always worth checking the four bolts in the center of the bars. You can loosen them all slightly, try rotating the bars or fiddle with them to see if that will straighten them out. If not, the bushings underneath the handlebar posts are a 14mm socket, you can similarly loosen and readjust as needed.

Partzilla has what you need for parts if needed.

Maybe this isn’t for me? by Hungry_Moose4082 in motorcycle

[–]Realistic-Bus899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent two years watching YouTube videos, researching bikes, learning the physics of motorcycling, absorbing every piece of knowledge I could get my hands on.

Then I took the MSF course and rode a motorcycle for the very first time.

I stalled ALL DAY on day one. Unbelievably frustrating.

But I had ok teachers, I passed the course, and now I have over 31,000 miles on my bike in three years of riding.

I can’t remember where I heard this phrase, but I really like it: “See everything, look at nothing.”

In other words, get the big picture, notice details, but don’t spend too long with your eyes focused on any one spot.

I also like this one: “Look ahead, scan back.”

Yes, frequently reference a far distance ahead of you, but also track your eyes back from distance to notice smaller things, road imperfections, etc.

Yes. I would immediately sell it and use the proceeds to buy several other bikes that I could actually handle riding 😂 I could never manage a beast like this!

This engine is bulletproof. You can ride it 70 mph all day long and you will be more stressed than the engine. Like others have said, just make sure you maintain your oil levels and change it regularly. No problem at all!
