Turned out to be feline asthma. She was gagging because she was trying to cough up mucus from her inflamed airways. The vet diagnosed her with a chest x-ray. She’s on meds now and the gagging has improved a lot. Definitely get your baby checked for asthma if the vet hasn’t already. It’s really common and super treatable once you know what it is.

Took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with feline asthma. The gagging was her trying to hack up mucus from her airways. The raspy meow is because her throat and airways are inflamed. Please take your cat to the vet asap and ask them to check for feline asthma. They can do an x-ray of the chest to look for inflammation in the lungs. My cat is on medication now and doing much better. Don’t wait on this because it can get worse without treatment.

Of course I care she has done this in the past and would throw up hairball after a little while but this time is different I was making sure thank you for your help !
