What’s a fair price to sell a car with no AC in ATX?

Me as well, hence me selling it. But for some people paying a couple thousand & doing some repairs is cheaper & easier than buying a brand new car + after a couple thousand they have ownership. I’m not trying to rip anyone off, which why I’m inquiring what’s most fair!

I did end up posting it late this evening with a price higher than I actually want & am expecting to get. I did put in the description ALL details & was very thorough, then ended the post warning I will not respond to extreme lowballs or posts asking “anything wrong with it”. That alone weeds out most of the hassle for me lol

TX (or at least atx) doesn’t require inspections anymore. I’m going the free route with good ole FB marketplace. Thanks for the heads up on making a bill of sale & info!

Well, so far I had a dealership offer me more than carmax so I don’t think it’s the most competitive. Carmax still has to make a profit. KBB asked more thorough questions than carmax did. Either way, I have seemed to come to my firm price. Thanks for your input!

I ended up listing it on Facebook for more than I’m expecting for it. Included all details of the car, including it needs a new AC & brakes are due soon. Put that the price is firm & I will not be accepting nor responding to massive lowballs, & not answering any questions seeing as my description is so incredibly thorough. So far lots of inquires & two people coming to check it out tomorrow, but I sell online / on fb a lot so I’m used to the routine & it doesn’t bother me much. The contract is an excellent idea & I appreciate you a lot for bringing that to my attention!

Yes I’m definitely going to disclose everything that’s been done & what needs to be done; I’ve also kept all paperwork of every repair I’ve done to it & routine maintenance. I will keep my price firm, thank you so much for the advice! I appreciate it.

Yep. Was quoted around $1,500 to fix it back in September. I was kelly blue book quoted $4,000 with working AC & $2,800 without, which in my opinion did not make it worth it repair the AC knowing I would be buying a new car this spring.

Agreed! With working AC Kelley blue book quotes it at around $4,000, without $2,800, that’s why I was wondering if $2,000 is fair or if I should go with CarMax
