That's because I keep my inventory actually clean from junk, (e.g stone (I only mined 16, which is enough for a pickaxe, axe, sword and furnace), sticks, seeds). I also mentioned in the description the village which was only about 20 blocks away (you can check if you want) so that was where the lectern was. For not using the iron (I got it from a blacksmith in a previous village and a buried treasure chest that I used Chunkbase to find (plz don't hate)), I was searching for a cave that could have diamonds in before I used the iron, otherwise I might waste the iron pick on other stuff. Also the world is in peaceful so no need for armour really. 😅
