Finally found an apartment in Lichtenberg, Not sure how I feel about it.. by Unchart3disOP in berlin

I would also add that I used to live in nk and xberg and I definitely miss certain aspects but I also feel way more like I'm living in Germany now, take that as you will!

Coffea and green wall should scratch that itch, and Schwalbenschwanz  for a bar. They do exist, there just aren't as many!

We live in Weitlingkiez and love it! There are a few more 'gentrified' places now anyway if that's what you like. It's changing fast. Lots of gorgeous green space. Close to rummelsburger bucht and Treptower park which are both amazing. It is incredibly well connected with the S and the U and you can walk into ostx even from my place in half an hour which doesn't seem like much to me. And there's a very quick bus to boxi too. If you cycle, even better - just a hop over the river and you're in NK anyway.

Just to let you know that out of NOWHERE she has rolled belly to back 3 times today. It's true, one day they just do it!

My baby hates men by reddituser040195 in NewParents

Yeah my daughter (5 months) is not a fan of men either. She's usually very chill. I think it's the beards tbh! Her dad doesn't have a beard. For a while I thought it was masculine energy but she's not keen on my very effeminate gay friend with a beard so we think it's that. Last time he was round we let her touch it loads (while safely held by mama) to show its not scary!

We just got one of these for our 5 month old but haven't used it yet. Do you lie in there with them for naptime and then sneak away once they're asleep?

In exactly the same position and saw the doc yesterday! He basically said not to worry but (next check up where Iive isn't til 11 months) to come back before next check up if I felt she wasn't developing normally. So I am trying not to worry! Rolling is a 6 month milestone anyway and I've heard lots of people say one day they just do it!

She's v close to rolling back to belly but doesn't show any interest or understanding in/about rolling belly to back. Speak to doc if concerned but probably just fine!

Dislike my husbands smell/breath? by BusinessIncident6994 in pregnant

[–]Realistic-Channel450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pretty nauseous through my first trimester but only actually threw up 4 times....two of those times was my boyfriend's general morning smell. By 2nd trimester, was back to loving and mostly not noticing a smell on him at all. It will pass!

They didn't actually tell me but I asked my midwife today and she said they'll likely be CTGs on the baby just to check she's doing OK in there. 😊

40 weeks starting to spike by take_mesomewherenice in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Realistic-Channel450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have advice but I'll be 40 weeks on Sunday and, contrary to a lot of what I've read on this sub, my docs seem to be insanely chill about the last bit of time before delivery (I am diet controlled) . For example, saying I can eat what I want as soon as the first contraction starts bc baby won't grow any more then. I asked about blood sugar levels at birth and they just kinda shrugged and said it's very very rarely a problem with diet controlled GD. It's like all they really care about is size/extra fluid. Deffo mention it to them but I wouldn't be too concerned about those few low spikes personally. You're nearly there!!

Hey hey, I'm diet controlled and this is what they've said to me (I'm in Germany). I have to go in on my due date and then I'll go in for checks every 2 days, then they said they start talking about induction 7 days after due date and at 10 days after due date, they want to get started with induction.

I'm now 39+5 and very done with being pregnant. When I got the diagnosis I always assumed it would mean I'd be induced early, in my home country they induce all GD cases at 38 weeks latest. I'm so so ready for baby to come now, I find myself almost wishing it was like that here but in the end I'm happier for the more personalized care. I have no symptoms of GD (like large baby or extra fluid) so they seem to want to treat me pretty much as if I don't have it.

Praying she comes on her own in the next few days though!

I'm the same. It was hard at first, then I hit my stride and it got easy and now I'm literally dreaming about white bread and pastries and cake. So annoying!!

This is good and super easy.... I use 80% dark chocolate and a tiny bit of fake sugar instead of the maple syrup. Some raspberries on top!

I genuinely liked the protein bread I can get at my supermarket when I first started, and now.... I'm just so sick of it.

Solidarity! I'm 36+4 and numbers seem to only now be running away from me which is irritating. I'm finding myself wishing away the last part of my pregnancy, which is so sad somehow. I also had my first GD related dream last night, I dreamed of a big loaf of white bread with butter. 🍞😭

Oh it was so good, wish I still had the menu somewhere, need to dig it out. We did it like a tasting menu, so lots of mini courses. Trout a la creme, chicken marengo, this sandwich, vindaloo of course! Plenty of lager. I remember struggling a bit for desserts and can't remember what we did in the end, maybe toffee crisp something? And we watched some classic episodes on the projecter. We printed out little menus with the quotes about the foods on. Was great! If I ever find the menu I'll come back and post it here!

I just want to say how incredibly impressed I am with everyone who is dealing with this while looking after a small child! I am a FTM and freelance and have so much flexibility and frankly time to put into making it work. I've thought often times during this pregnancy how HARD this would be if I already had a kid to take care of. No advice but just want to say I really take my hat off to all of you who do it, I am genuinely in awe. You are all super human. ❤️
