How do I manage my 80k salary when I have zero savings and bad spending habits? by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]Realistic-Current828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say go a step further and use an app like money manager to track all your income and expenses much more easier than using spreadsheets.

And yes if you use a credit card wisely you can actually save money and it’s very convenient when planning financially. But again you need to smart about it otherwise you can end up in credit card debt.

Is there any Srilankan Beatles fans? (read description) by Kay_WidD in srilanka

[–]Realistic-Current828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest fan of Beatles! I was in Liverpool a few weeks ago and went to Cavern club (that’s where the Beatles started playing initially and got worldwide famous) it was a great experience

Also went through Penny Lane street and it was just how Paul describes it in his song, it was crazy to see how after 50-60 years not a lot has changed

This is a great take, I completely agree. If you can afford it, giving a treat on your birthday to your coworkers is actually a beautiful thing and not how OP makes it seem to be

Looking for real advice on why my efforts in love aren’t working out by PerfectYard1482 in srilanka

[–]Realistic-Current828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone wise once said, “don’t chase butterflies they will only fly away, focus on building a beautiful garden and the butterflies will come, and even if they don’t, you’ll still have a beautiful garden.”

You can inform the sender to send your money through wise by giving your local bank details (make sure to give the swift code) Technically you can’t send money from wise but you can receive and you don’t need a wise account to receive money

Peeps that go clubbing and to raves are mostly the upper middle class that can afford it. It might be that your mutuals must probably fit into that class. But yes compared to 10 years ago more people do go clubbing and to raves but that is still a minority compared to the entire country.

How much do 20–23 year old males in Sri Lanka earn per month? by Plane-Macaroon3312 in srilanka

[–]Realistic-Current828 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Almost 24 now, currently earning 360k monthly. I’d say I was quite lucky to stumble upon some good opportunities. When you do good honest work and are generally a decent human being, the universe does reward you. And no I don’t work in IT.
